Upon deciding to post this I had
no expectations of stumping anyone. In fact I’ll go ahead and put the answer
at the bottom. Anyway, here goes. Do you know what this two piece kitchen accessory does?
Giving away the answer, I'll say it served very well after I brought
home some poppyseed and sesame bagels. For the record, I realized the latter
are far superior. The market, alas, only offered four and we wanted six for all the
lovely lox (thin sliced smoked salmon) picked out at another store.
I love me some lox with
capers and cream cheese. Technically, it’s Neufchâtel, but same difference. Yum.

I'm not a big fan of lox. I prefer my bagels (everything, please) with just cream cheese. Nothing else added.
ReplyDeleteSacrilege! ~grin~ Thanks for commenting. Be well!
DeleteNOPE...I have not. I love a bagel with cream cheese but that is it. So...a bagel cutter, intesting. Strange looking for sure! haha
ReplyDeleteHow interesting that you didn't know what it was. The thing works really well. Be well!
Deletehaha....I buy bagels already cut! haha...LAZY! Actually I look at it as making my life easier, one less thing I haver to do. BTW I love bagels but tomorrow I am going to start working on dropping another 20 lbs so I am cutting out bread (my down fall) and sugar. Wish me luck.
DeleteOh, wow! I tried that after seeing my skinny brother and sister-in-law. I succeeded for maybe three days straight. ~grin~ Good luck!
DeleteI've never tried lox. I have one of those, or at least I used to. It may have gotten lost in some move or other.
ReplyDeleteBummer. Buying them un-sliced keeps the bread so much fresher. Be well!
DeleteI did not know what that awesome contraption was but I am telling you that all I can think about is that bagel with the cream cheese and capers... calling to me... big time! I have had bagels and lox but... nope. The husband is good with it. My favorite combo when it comes to bagels... an everything with butter layer first, cream cheese, and then strawberry preserves.
ReplyDeleteWow, that sounds rich for me. ~grin~ Thanks for sharing!
DeleteI would not have guessed bagel slicer. Never had lox.
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm tickled that this stumped some folks.
