Ups & Downs with a Water Sprite

I like to joke about our evil water sprite. But it wasn’t funny when my husband announced that we received a city water bill for just over seven thousand, five hundred dollars.

Yes. The estimated bill came to $7,500 (US) plus. I almost choked. Thank heaven, an understanding city worker discovered that a newly installed electronic meter reset to zero and somehow compounded our reading. We owe under $100. Whew. We were grateful for the quick resolution and our advocate’s joking attitude lightening the stress.

This ‘sprite’ can bring good things, too. Heavy rain brought a visitor seeking shelter.

I like how the toad first rested in the pot I placed...

... and settled between my frog statues

Who's a Pretty Toad?

  2. I can't imagine me getting a bill like that! I would have one of only teo reactions. Neither good ones. It's fun that you got to see the toad there like that. :-)

  5. I love things like your frogs in the garden. Adorable. As for that BILL....oh my gosh, sorry to be so point blank, I would have shit! If that had happened I would have been afraid to turn the water on to clean up....

    1. Good question! I did pick up the toad and enjoyed the experience more than the poor amphibian thinking the garage/driveway were safe. Heh...

  10. Oh My Heavens, what a water bill that would be were it accurate! As it is, I often hear dad scolding mom for her OCD handwashing habits, long showers, etc., but man, I don't think she could run up something like that one!!! Good to catch up, my dear. Dad's been struggling to keep up with all here, too. If I could manage our blog on my own I would.
