Weird, Wild, & Wonderful

Today two shiny shed kitten claws appeared on a windowside kitty 'condo'. Wait... Shiny? ~shakes head~ Upon further investigation I realized Terra and/or Polly lost some baby teeth. I couldn't resist cleaning them in hydrogen peroxide for keeping.

Our little girls are growing up...

Even better than this cute discovery is the fact my niece filmed her father from his hospital bed. Brian looked and sounded great, better than I expected. His humor is intact and Sarah could be heard giggling throughout filming.

Do you think freezing a kitty teething toy will sooth them through this transition? Should I leave something nice under their bedding as the Tooth Fairy?

  1. We have all of Angel Little Bit's baby teeth. I'm glad we kept them. You'll do something nice for them. I know it.

Great news on your brother. He'll feel better than he has in years after he heals up. You'll see.

Have a fabulous day, Darla. Big hug. ♥

  2. Yes, the tooth fairy should pay them a visit! We're glad to hear that Brian is doing well.

  3. How old are the babes? Misty River is almost four months. When do they lose their teeth. Never remember seeing any that Lily lost. I know one thing, Lily has always been easy at clipping her nails, sit right up in my lap, Misty on the other hand is a hand full. I have to do that when she falls asleep in my arms! Big difference in kittens for sure..I love hearing and reading stories of your new additions.

    1. Thank you for all the kind words. I think these girls are about four months, maybe closer to five now. :) And kudos on you for nail trimming. I never felt comfortable trying. Now, there really is not much point as so many pieces of furniture have been marked. Oh, well. I'd rather have kitties than pristine furniture.

  4. A teething toy might be nice. I doubt they'd enjoy a visit from the Tooth Fairy, though. You'd get more joy out of it than they would.

    1. I have one, actually. Not sure exactly why I bought it years ago but it had something to do with thinking our silly Tilly might like the toy. No takers on sinking their teeth in, though. Go figure.

  5. Wow, you found baby teefs! We never did, for Angel and Chuck were only 6 weeks old when we adopted them (we know better now that that was too young!)

  6. I think freezing some toys is a good idea. You are in luck, I am the Tooth Fairy of the blogging world, please send me your address to pilch92@aol.com and I will mail them some crocheted catnip toys.
I am glad your brother is doing well. XO

  7. By all means, be the tooth fairy! I don't know if there are kitten chew toys for teething help out there or not. What I recall about when my permanent teeth were coming in was my gums itched.

    1. You have the better memory. :) My only recollection revolves around my maternal grandfather helping baby teeth come out with the old string and door handle trick. Heh...

  8. Wow!!! That is a cool keepsake Darla. I didn't even realise that Cat's lost their teeth as they grew up

  10. Interesting find, Darla, though I don't much think the teething thing would do much. Dad says my teeth are probably petrified by now. As always, he's an idiot. We're so glad to hear Brian's coming along nicely, and we hope he continues til fully recuperated.

    1. Awww... You're both sweet and silly. Your dad can't be an idiot if he adopted you. :)
