Around ten o'clock last night my middle brother passed along word that Brian was off the heart bypass machine. Still, the surgery would not be completed for probably two more hours.
I heard nothing further and figured no news was good knews. Emotionally wired, however, I stayed up until four in the morning. My husband passed me on his way to make coffee and turn on his computer. Heh...
My hopes were confirmed by word that Brian had been extubated and is breathing on his own. I'm sure he's not feeling terrific right now. Our hope is that each day will be better.
On a funny note, I strained my back muscles while eating lunch. Our intrepid cat Terra went after my plate probably a dozen times before I gave up placing her from dining table to floor. Now I'm feeling it. Oops... Jezebel ignored the entire fiasco, as did Polly.
Did you know that blueberries make an excellent cat toy? ~grin~ And (surprising to me) are a good feline food supplement?

I hadn't seen your brother was experiencing trouble with his health. Blueberries make excellent cat toys. Squishy, rolly poley, like a mouse.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your concern. And I'll have to keep blueberries on hand now. :)
DeleteYes, I knew that blueberries were good for cats and dogs. Grapes, onions and garlic are not. I have a silly cat that will not eat wet food. I think I am lucky she eats dry. She acts like she don't like the smell! And although she has not had people food, apparently the smell of it cooking, or me eating entices her a lot more then cat food. Oh my.....Sorry about the back. I found a spray bottle of water works great along with the word NO. Glad you brother is better. Please keep us all posted.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind words. I did not know grapes were bad for pets. Thanks for that, not that we buy grapes often. Heh... The back pain is minor, more amusing than anything. :)
DeleteGreat news on your brother. He'll feel better each day. I'm so happy for you and for him.
ReplyDeleteYou messed up your back eating lunch? You're most talented.
Yes kitties love to bat blueberries around, but they can leave a mess too.
Have a fabulous day, Darla and get some rest. ♥
:)
DeleteI am so glad to hear your Brother is doing okay, that is really good news. I hope your back feels better, that's not a fun pain to have.
ReplyDeleteThank you! The back is not a real issue, just a twinge now and then. lol
DeleteGreat news about your brother.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. :)
DeleteI am happy to read that your brother got through surgery. I will keep him in my prayers. Yes, blueberries and peas too make fun cat toys. XO
ReplyDelete~hugs~
DeleteI am VERY glad that Brian is surely finished with that surgery, and off the by-pass machine. I thought of him this morning on my way into the kitchen after getting up. I found your comment on Katie Isabella's bloggie and thank you. I am so grateful to learn he has done well and gotten through this horrendous surgery.
ReplyDeleteYou have beautiful cats! Do they have a blog?
Thank you so much. We share this blog, my kitties and I. :) Your kindness is much appreciated. Be well, my dear.
DeleteContinued good hopes for your brother.
ReplyDeletePicking up The PO'M has hurt my back before; he's a chonk!
Take care of yourself.
Thanks for the well wishes and laughter, my dear.
DeletePurrayers tp you and your brother and the Dactyls.
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteIt must be a very worrying time for you & your entire family Darla. (((HUGS))) Hope your back strain isn't too bad. It's easily done, my eldest son is a mechanic & he was under the hood of a car working on the engine. He twisted around to grab a spanner from his toolbox & that cost gim 6 months off work with a painful back injury. It's amazing how just a simple movement can cause so much pain.
ReplyDeleteOuch! Sorry he was out of commission at all, let alone so long. I just had a teeny tiny twinge that has gone. :) As for my big brother, he's doing so well I keep thanking God. Thanks for the prayers and sentiments.
