Welcome to another installment of Rainbow Snippets. A

Today’s tidbit is banter between shapeshifters from
this month’s Camp
NaNo project. I’m just
writing whatever the mood strikes and this angst popped up toward the end of yesterday’s
endeavors. I hope you enjoy.
Snippet:
“Don’t push me away. Not
unless you want me gone for good.”
“I don’t know what I want.
Don’t you get that?”
“Can I just tell you what I want? I think all of you will like it,
both the primitive and the…”
“I don’t think I have a
civilized side.”
“I was going to say
lascivious.”

Do you think I should include a wry grin in a dialog
tag with that last line?

Or maybe ROUGH side? haha
ReplyDeleteNice. Thanks for the giggle.
DeleteWell, you know that it is those types of things that seem to grab some readers....
DeleteSo true. ~grin~ Be well, my dear!
DeleteNo you did it just right for me.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day. ♥
Thank you! I hope you have a lovely day, my dear.
DeleteHeh, good comeback! :) Happy Writing!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm about to dig into it today.
DeleteThat last line made me laugh out loud—good one! I think including 'wry grin' would be overkill, though... The wryness comes across loud and clear, and I think any reader worth their salt will be able to read the grin into the dialogue. My two plugged pennies' worth :)
ReplyDeleteDarla, thanks so much for the lovely comment over at The Cynical Sailor for my guest post last month—and so very sorry I'm only replying and visiting now. All sorts of stuff's been going on for me. But I really do appreciate you taking the time to share about Luna and your other two cats, as well as your experience with rescued dogs. Every voice lifted in favor of those lives counts, so—seriously—thank you :)
Hope your summer's going fabulously so far!

Thank you! Things are good here. I hope life quiets down in all the best possible ways for you.
DeleteNot needed. The word speaks for itself. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteThank you! You're very kind.
DeleteI think you should :)
ReplyDeleteOne vote in favor. Interesting! Thank you for being such a loyal blogging friend. Be well!
DeleteLove this banter and sending lots of positve vibes for Camp NaNo.
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you! That means a lot. Be well, my dear.
DeleteHe said with a wink. ??? It could work. Then again, it could work without.
ReplyDeleteThanks for weighing in!
DeleteThat last line injects a whole lot of fun into what could have been a major downer of a scene. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you! You're very kind.
DeleteIt's great just like it is.
ReplyDeleteThank you! You're very kind.
DeleteI liked the banter and the pain in the I don't know what I want is evident
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind words! Be well, my dear.
DeleteHaha, loved that last line :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for brightening my day!
DeleteLoved the last line.
