Today I started yet another
writing challenge such as back in April. Unlike November’s National Novel
Writing Month, these so-called ‘camps’ encourage participants to set a goal
that can be very different from fifty thousand words. I no doubt mentioned that
this past spring. And once again, I decided to stick with 50k.
To hit that goal by the thirtieth of the month, that means writing 1,667 words every day. As a local friend noted, I
tend to reach that like proverbial clockwork. Today’s beginning was no
exception.
But I just realized today
that July has 31 days (I’m not very observant ~grin~ or reliant upon the
calendar). Rather than readjust my well ingrained thinking, I’ve decided to
stick with the usual desired daily count. That way, a win is in the bag!
Are you doing anything that
has you excited this month?
Uh, yeah, July has 31 days! Do not cut out the 31st.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a child, I was so paranoid that July would lose the 31st, kind of like February only has a 29th every four years. It was child thinking, and I outgrew it.
But yeah, I'm always aware that July has 31 days. I missed being born in August by only 9 hours ;)
Thank you for the giggle. It's amazing the thoughts we have as children. I'm still outgrowing some, I think! Happy early birthday, my dear!
DeleteYou amaze me with how many words you write in a day. I love July, it is my birthday month- I celebrate all month long. :)
ReplyDeleteAwww... thank you! Happy Birthday, my dear. You sound like a friend of mine who was also born in July. Take care!
DeleteLove how you challenge yourself to these writing challenges. I try to challenge myself to get off my rear a couple times through the day! haha....have fun and write on!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind word! Just remember that you do more and get out more than me by a long shot. Keep creating and take care!
DeleteYou are prolific at writing, good at getting it done. Not so much me. I intended to write this month in my time off. I still do.
ReplyDeleteYou're too busy saving lives! ~hugs~ I hope you find the time.
