Polly’s Follies – 6

My husband has a humorous remark toward our cats anytime we catch one causing damage. “You’re the reason we can’t have nice things.” Doll faced Polly has probably made her mark the most and continues chewing on oddball items.

Funny enough, her damaging my aquarium cabinet is why I propped a storage bin cover over it. The attractive wicker veneer is no match for cat claws.

Brat though she can be, she still gets treats from my husband every afternoon alongside Jezebel and Terra. The tossed tidbits occasionally land on them. Some disappear within Polly’s floof.

Poor thing has no clue know where
her latest treat landed...
Thank goodness she tolerates regular grooming sessions. Some come from me and others are courtesy of her sister, who is luckier in that department.

A gal needs help neatening all that fur...
Should I let her discover a hidden treat on her own now and then? Or do you think Terra would find them first anyway?

  1. haha...you do have your hands full with those two. I have gotten off so lucky with my two. Lily was never destructive and Misty is not either. Worst she does is carry a glove from room to room. Lily played with TP on the roll for a bit and Qtips but that is all. They can be so funny though.

  2. Cats do what cats do and we still give them treats. As it should be.

Have a fabulous day and week, Darla. A hug to you and scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  3. I thought only dogs chewed things not cats. Polly has proved me wrong.

  5. I just today saw a dog sweater that said "why we can't have nice things". I bet it would fit a cat... Just sayin'.

  6. Here at Eastside Cats, no treat EVER remains uneaten for more than a few seconds!
And Sweetie uses the rugs to sharpen her nails, despite multiple scratchers, and Da Boyz like the downstairs wallpaper, which hangs in shreds in certain locations.
The Hubby tracks mud in, and I always manage to bang against walls, so we all have our bits of damage, which is why this old house is purrfect for us all.

  7. Good she sits through the grooming sessions. Some don't like that. I don't know why!

    1. At first she didn't and I make certain to stop when she wants or skip if she's not acting at all in the mood. :D

  8. I do what she did in that video on my Christmas gift toy that dad made for me instead of using it for its intended purpose. Hey, as long as I'm using it, dad's happy.

  10. That happens here too. One cat here, Cookie, loves her treats but has ultra long thick hair and sometimes they land and disappear into that.
