Dinner and a Movie

My partner and I are big fans of the Faustian mythos. Now in theaters, “American Satan” is a Faustian tale with a modern rock and roll twist. And it stars Malcolm McDowell. That sounds like a win/win. It also doesn’t hurt that, as I mentioned before, music by Palaye Royale features in the film.

Rock and Roll is Where God and the Devil Shake Hands
Planning at first on going Monday afternoon, we decided against waiting. Now we’re planning on going today and I can hardly wait. As an added bonus, I suggested dinner somewhere in the cinema’s vicinity as it’s outside our normal stomping grounds. My partner is a fanatic over the culinary arts.

So now it looks like we’ll be enjoying Nepalese cuisine after the film. Should be fun. I’m sure there will be a movie review soon to follow. In the meantime I’m editing a story on the back patio, enjoying our beautiful temperatures and blue skies. I can’t ask for a better Saturday.

What’s your weather like today? Anything special going on inside or out?

  1. Sounds like a great time out. I have a new blueray version of Wonder Woman I have not watched due to the fact I can't figure out how to hook the blue ray player to the cable box! Today, weather was amazing. Mid 70's, and after a long and eventful day yesterday my body shut down today, I slept on the screened in porch on the glider for hours! Other then that....life is good.

    1. We had a fun time, for sure. I was afraid Friday would be taxing for you. ~hugs~ Have you tried watching Youtube on how to hook up the player? Wish I could help.

  3. I hope you have a great time. I liked Malcolm M in the Fantasy Island remake in the late 1990's. :)

    1. Thank you! We had a wonderful time.

Ooh. I didn't recall he did a Fantasy Island reboot. Loved the original in reruns! I should see if either are available to stream over our Roku device.

  4. I'm surprised I've never heard of this one.

Personally, nothing too crazy going on right now. Just more of the same of trying to make life, writing, and work all function together.

    1. I'm not sure I'd have heard about the movie without Palaye Royale touting the release on social media. I hope lots go see it.

And now you're sketching! How wonderful! I really like the crow you drew and shared on your blog.

    1. Thank you. We really enjoyed ourselves. We changed our minds about the restaurant, though, simply because an Indian place ended up being just yards away from the theater. It was good and worth altering the plan. We'll check out the other place some time when we're a little farther south.

  9. Darn. I wish I had a good answer. Thanks for asking! We ended up eating Indian, though it was excellent. We'll have to visit this place on another outing.
