Dragon Fruit

Today's trip to our local international market inspired me to try dragon fruit. Marketing aside, this colorful green and red beauty attracted me.

This photo was taken in my kitchen.

The texture is juicy, its mild flavor hinting of strawberry, while the seeds give a nice pop without sticking between ones teeth. I feel blessed to have this available.

Would you try this fruit? Are you, by any chance, heading toward Cincinnati, Ohio and want to check out Jungle Jim's? The place gives tours, believe it or not.

    1. If the price is reasonable, yes. The fruit is thirst quenching with a mild flavor in which the textures shines.

  6. Jungle Jim's sounds intriguing. Dad was gonna make what he thought was a funny comment about it, but thankfully I wrestled the laptop away from him. If nothing else, that dragon fruit sure looks interesting.

    1. :) I want to read that comment out, for sure. Your dad and I share a lot of the same humor it seems, Cleo, while your mom makes a lovely counterpart.

  7. have not had that fruit although I have heard of it. Not even sure we sell it here..would I try, prob so. You see as I have aged, or maybe my taste buds have changed, I will try things that I never tried before. Had a friend that would bring things to work and have me try them, however, she would not tell me what was in it till I tried it. I had this habit of not trying if I did not like what was in things. I was well up in my late 20s before I tried sour cream, why, cause of the name. SOUR!!! haha
