Word(s) of the Day

Yesterday my husband shared a new addition to the Urban Dictionary. He knows I’m a language geek and figured I’d be amused.

Vaxhole
One who has been fully vaccinated for the Covid-19 virus and brags about it.

I wasn’t terribly amused until I saw the entry using this slang term in a sentence. I mean, come on...

Two weeks after the second shot that vaxhole is posting selfies from a Cancun bar.

That is something a jerk would do. ~snort~ But I couldn’t resist turning the table on my guy, who decided to replace our kitchen faucet with an industrial grade unit he saw at his brother’s house.

Michael provided the information only to hear his baby brother brag about finding the exact same model for a huge discount. I promptly called my hubby a sinkhole. In all sincerity, I hope no pieces are missing. We shall see come Friday.

US consumer retail price:
$500!

Do you think this bargain will pay off or be a bust? How often have you been disappointed by a supposed like new purchase?

  1. Vaxhole. Bwahahahahahahaha. Bless his heart.

I love that faucet. Those work really well on the big pots. I've used them before. For home use not as much but in the restaurants they are a must.

I've had a lot of buyers remorse. I can't remember all of them, but the list is long.

Have a fabulous day and week, Darla. ♥

    1. Thanks for the kind words. Our faucet is troublesome, getting gunked up with hard water deposits. We hope this works out.

  5. I LOVE your now Taps! I always wonted one like that since I worked in a couple of hotels that had ones like those. I LOVED using them. I hope it works out ok! Let us know if it is a sink hole! Thanks for visiting and your kind comments. I too miss McGuffy's Reader. THe Sparks always make me think of Nellie. So this week Angel Nellie is appearing on Wordless Wenesday as a flashback! 7. That's hysterical, used in the sentence you used it in. I hope I don't become a vaxhole at times. Gloat gloat.

  8. I have a feeling the faucet will be harder to install than anticipated. Things like that always seem to go like that.

As of tomorrow, I will be a vaxhole, and I'm not going to be a bit sorry about it. I utilize Urban Dictionary a lot. So many terms pop up, and I need to keep up with the kiddos.

  9. Dad says Ellen above beat him to the punch- he was gonna add "Masshole" to your list since he and mom are from up that neck of the woods. We have that kind of faucet over a huge, deep farmhouse kitchen sink. It has its pros and cons, according to what I hear from mom and dad. Dad has always said that they don't make anything like they used to.

    1. I appreciate the heads up. Your dad is right. :) Even when it comes to engineering kitties, mankind tends to lessen the qualities. ~purr~ Take care!

  10. That's a really new coinage! Well, regarding purchases, generally I am super careful before buying anything. Generally I am happy. I can't immediately remember anything that was disappointing.

  11. Yupper, I have had a few purchases that I wish I hadn't made. Thing is, you don't know (of course) until you make the mistake. Just made a mistake last week. Still smarting from that. :-)

  12. I hate my kitchen faucet. Serious, it never leaks. It never has so much pressure that is soaks you when you are unawares that breath is about to leave your lungs. The problem I have is...
I cannot make the darn thing drip when we have sub freezing weather out. Sometimes I have to tease the handle for five or ten minutes, then here comes Wifey, blasting it, to get a two ounce drink of water. Oh, she says she did not think about it, but I wonder if she does not do it on purpose to aggravate.
Your plumbing fixture does look awfully nice.

Happy Easter Weekend, Darla and Friends, from Tennessee
