Sleep Thread

Still concerned about diarrhea suffered by our kitties, my thoughts often wander. This evening I dozed off and woke thinking of the word Strongyloides.
Kitties in Repose
With no conscious knowledge, I attributed this to "House MD" and some mental glitch. We watched through the entire series more than once. And linguistic terms, medical or other, often stick in my head.

To my surprise, this is a real threat to mammals. I will address it with our vets, who wish to see the kittens again.

~fingers crossed~

Do you believe solutions can be revealed in our dreams? How did I suddenly conjure this nematode's name?

  1. Gut feeling, sometimes realised in our thoughts or dreams, might turn out to be true. It happens. Probably because our thought process (conscious or subconscious) is occupied with that topic.

But in this particular case, we are still sure if the kitties' condition has something to do with Strongyloides. I am sure the vet will be able to diagnose accurately. And your kitties will be fine. Don't you worry :-)

  2. I hope the kitties will be okay. I'm not sure about solutions, but my wife says after I doze off briefly I wake suddenly blurting out a word or subject that makes her think I was dreaming of something. She finds it hilarious sometimes with some things that come out of my mouth (besides drool).

  3. YES, Yes and yes....I do. I also know that if it is something I have heard, or seen a few days before seems to come out in a dream. If I have not thought of someone for awhile and I hear their name or maybe see something we did together, shared together or something that reminded me of them, I will dream about them in a few days. Our minds are amazing things. Oh my gosh....if I remembered any of the medical names from HOUSE I would be shocked. Hoping the babes are better soon. Poor babes.

    1. I agree about the mind. My love of language causes me to retain useless things like that. lol Thanks for the kind words. They don't seem bothered in the least but I worry over the long term repercussions.

  7. Maybe from Strongid? The roundworm killer I told you about (pyrantel pamoate). I get the stuff in quart bottles!

    1. That's what I brought home from the latest visit. :) I have 2 syringes of the stuff, one for each kitty, a dose given this past Friday and another on April 9th. Thanks again for helping.

  13. I am delighted to read that Polly got her extra toe claw done as well and I will add that I was surprised that after 5 weeks the Vet tech said yesterday that her claw on one toe was wanting to pierce her pad. Scared me. I have always known that is a possibility but I thought it would take longer. Just glad I got her in there. They charge an arm and a leg but Katie is worth it.

  15. My Dreams are often too Weird to have any logical bearing on Real Life {I Hope}. I do Hope by now all the Kittens no longer have the Trots, perhaps it was their Diet?
