Bonus & a Beef

SO ordered an item from Poland a while back, an item which required an adult signature for delivery. Fine. We are home almost all the time.

Only yesterday, I returned from the gym to find a note on the door from the United States Postal Service saying that a package could not be delivered. I presented the message to SO, who looked at me in confusion from the desk never left since my departure.

Now it is possible that the new PC game drowned out the sound of knocking and/or the doorbell ringing. But this is not the first time I encountered this problem. Back when I was working and had frequent packages shipping to my house from Japan there were occasional notes left in the mailbox. And SO worked from home then.

At least the mailbox makes more since. This delivery person came all the way to the door. What the heck?

But, minor rant aside, the box contained a surprise. Check out the blood orange and mango filled chocolate bar! Though we haven’t tried the candy yet, that vendor is going to get high praise online for the extra courtesy.

Czerwona Means Red, Kinda Boring as Opposed to 'Blood' Orange
Have you ever tried a blood orange?

  1. I love blood orange but I have never had it in choc. I have had a choc ball that is flavored with orange...love it! I have had blood orange juice and an actual blood orange....so good!

    1. I like them, too, though we've been sticking with less expensive little mandarins these days. Yum. Be well, my dear!

  3. I have totally had that happen where I get a notification that something was delivered and they'd never come to the door. Irksome. Cool to get some candy, too.

    1. Irksome is the perfect word. The candy was a nice surprise, for sure, even though I'm not big on sweets.

  4. So frustrating to think someone came to the door and didn't bother to knock or ring the doorbell, or at least didn't try very hard.

  5. I don't bother with blood oranges in the United States anymore. Tried them several times, from several different stores, they were no good. Or at least not like the ones we used to get in Spain when we lived there for a short time when I was 13, which was basically what you got if you wanted oranges. The best oranges ever. Maybe the best fruit ever.

    1. Oh, I can totally understand. Can't say I've been to Spain but if the opportunity ever presents, I'm getting oranges. Yum...

  7. Oh that is a nice extra surprise. Ahh on the post office. I've had them do that. Last time she walked all the way to the door during a snow storm to post that my mailbox was blocked by snow (it wasn't). Left the note but didn't leave any mail. smh lol
