Every weekend, a Facebook group called RainbowSnippets shares six sentences of story from a LGBTQIA+ related work. Today, my
humble little offering is an opening scene from “Kennel Club”, the fifth short story out of my privately stashed BloodMoon series. I hope you enjoy it and will pop over to check out what
others have shared.
Snippet:
I
looked up to find my father crossing the lobby from the airport
luggage claim, suitcase in tow. Seeing him ready to go, I apologized for
being late.

“Traffic
slow you down?”
I looked to my lover,
mischief glinting in his eyes. Sure.
We cruised right along Cincinnati’s
sleepy Sunday streets.

As I type this I’m enjoying a lovely spring rain from
beneath a tin patio roof. What’s your weather like today?

Just about to pop over and look at Rainbow Snippets - sounds intriguing. As for the weather in the good ol' rainy UK, it's actually not bad at the moment - a bit overcast but nice and warm. It's was brilliant last Saturday. I think it shone especially for our Harry and your Meghan!
ReplyDeleteThank you for popping in here! ~grin~ Be well, my dear.
DeleteSounds like they had more on their minds than traffic :D I'm sitting inside in the cool. It's hot outside for the UK and we don't have air conditioning so I'm moving around cool spots.
ReplyDeleteOh, so sorry you're too warm. I'd rather be a bit chilled and have to warm up. And these two always help me do that. ~grin~ Be well!
DeleteI always enjoy your writing. I wonder why they were late :)
ReplyDeleteIt is too hot and humid here today. I have hot flashes- I like it cold. Have a great weekend!
Thank you! I'm with you on not liking it hot. Ugh... Stay cool!
DeleteHeh, great last line! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! You're very kind.
DeleteCloudy with some sun yesterday, sunshine today. It was supposed to be cloudy. Am I disappointed? Ha.
ReplyDeleteI hope you weather is good today! Be well, my dear.
DeleteHeh - I wonder if Dad caught that look? ;)
ReplyDeleteWonder whether his dad would believe him if he said yes?
ReplyDeleteRain on a tin roof, how very relaxing. Enjoy writing in such a great atmosphere.
ReplyDeleteSounds like something more exciting than traffic (wait, there's a time when Cincinnati isn't packed?)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I wonder what could have held them up other than the (lack of) traffic? :D
ReplyDeleteLove the last bit!
