Yesterday I got partway
through the fifth short story in my series. It’s been fun revisiting them, if
for like the millionth time. ~shakes head~ Today I completed that polishing
reread and opened the sixth document.
But something continued to
niggle me after I posted about this series yesterday. The newly renamed “Cat
Scratch Fever” is a few thousand words shorter than most of the others (it
remains to be seen where the seventeenth goes, currently incomplete with almost
a doubled word count).
So, poor me, I have to read
through the first story again and beef up the word count. ~sigh~ It’s such a
chore (not) working on these scenes
again. There are always little phrases that can spice up showing my characters’
personalities. That said, I’ve already punched up the first few paragraphs a
little. Joy!

I understand that can be difficult because normally editing is all about trimming down. But anything that will help develop your characters is good.

DeleteIt was my pamper day. I got a full set and a pedicure. Then I did a bit of grocery shopping at Raley's and now I'm home goofing off. Dinner in about 2 hours.

DeleteI hung on the deck till about 11:30 this morning with the furbabes then I got up and got dressed (yes, I hung in my gown)...and headed to moms. Dakota went with me. I told her I would come over and clean. Managed to knock it except for the den and 1/2 bath. Then I came home and curled up on the glider and slept for 2 hours. Now, I am pushing to get going again...haha But on the flip side, it was a beautiful day here. Just watered the gardens and I am ready to .....do something! haha...I know you enjoy your writing. Happy for you.

DeleteI had that problem with the first novel (which is currently "resting"). I figured out what the problem was. Not enough world building. But that's just my issue; I'm sure it's not yours.

DeleteWhat am I going to do today? The car needs washed. So do some windows. And I need to trap four females in Lebanon. Their kittens have been located and removed to a rescue, so its time for me to get the girls fixed. I hope I catch all four. But that's for later. Now I need to wash some windows.
