A Quick Veggie Plant Update

Things are looking quite healthy. I’m leaving them outside for two and a half hours today. On Sunday I fertilized each at half strength. Please wish me well that I don’t trip and fall while moving them.
All my pumpkins and cucumbers have
jagged leaves while those smooth
ones belong to peppers...

I have my heart set on growing Super
Sauce tomatoes this summer...

More pepper and cucerbit plants...
Did you know that luffa sponges are a type of gourd in the cucerbit family? Isn’t it amazing that these gourds harvested young are commonly eaten (similar to zucchini) either stir-fried or curried?

  2. Darla, you definitely have a green thumb! Lovely photos, dear friend. And I did not know that about the loofah sponge! Thank you so much for sharing!

  3. Yes, carry carefully.
I think my luffa is made from nylons.

  6. The Hubby just mentioned that it would be great to grow vegetables, and I say, as I've said for years, 'yes, you growing vegetables would be great!'

  7. Everything looks great. You have quite the green thumb. We grew loofahs one year, but didn't eat them. I dried them and was going to give them to family and friends, but I don't think I did it properly because they were not like the loofahs I see in stores. XO

  8. I need one now to scrub the face, its at a stage with spring here and winter out that it needs a good scrub to get rid of a few flakes. I put three mater plants in pots to have some tasty maters. Last time I went with cherry just cause I love them but this yr I went with big boys. Plants themselves are looking so health and growing. I have a basil, and I had a rosemary but for some odd reason that did not make it. So, with that said, I need to get a rosemary, oregano and some spearmint. I lost all those over the winter.

  9. Bless your heart for your green thumb and your patience, Miss Darla. And yeah, be careful not to trip while carrying those!

  11. I actually have three tomato plants, a basil, spearmint, and rosemary. I have not picked up oregano and not sure if I will or lavender, prices are way to nuts.
