Another First World Problem

I am overweight AKA fat and also morbidly obese in medical terminology. ~sigh~ I recall being thin and even dream about those days sometimes for whatever reason. It is what it is.

Thus when I buy a shirt online the garments are often too long, sometimes way, way too long. This happened when I supported a dog rescue website. The t-shirt I looked forward to wearing out and about hangs absurdly down to my knees.

I considered having it tailored. While this would have supported a small local business I decided to instead spend the money on an embroidered baseball cap. The super soft “Tell Your Dog I Said Hi” shirt is now loungewear and the phrase makes me smile.
I appreciate the worn look and chose this nice green color...

I like all sorts of hats. And this cap will get plenty of use.

The message here might stimulate conversation, as well...
Have you ever been diagnosed with a terrible sounding medical condition? Wouldn’t it be nice if clinical terms excluded depressing words such as morbid and chronic?

  1. The dog video is heartwarming. Your shirt is too big? Or are you too small for it?

    1. It is loose around the abdomen, which means I should have purchased 2X instead of 3. Otherwise, I'm just too short. lol I enjoy these videos and even get a daily email from We Rate Dogs. :D

  2. If I really wanted the t-shirt, I'd do a little DIY. Maybe cut out the design and whip stitch it to a t-shirt that fits me. Or cut it to the length I want and hem. Although, a frayed hem could work too...

I am also fat. But I am tall. So, most of the 2/3 XLs are long enough, or sometimes too short for what I like.

  3. That is a great hat. It's all the crap they put in our food and pharma doesn't really want to cure us.. how would they make money? Not a good world we live in.

  5. Dad says he can relate. Years ago, mom got him to lose almost 80 pounds, though these past few years, what with him not being as physically busy as his work used to keep him, he's put about 25 back on. He purposely buys work clothes now that hang off him like a tent to hide the parts he's embarrassed about. That hat is totally cool.

  6. Getting clothes to fit our size is a challenge. What they mention as L or M or S or even specific numbers to indicate size aren't uniform. So, if for one brand, L fits, no guarantee that L of another brand fits! I mostly get my shirt ready-made. But I get the trousers stitched. Only once recently, I got the shirts also stitched.
Yes, medical terminology needs to be changed. It's depressing to have such names.
I am thin, and recently I noticed that I had lost about 3 kg. I was surprised. Not sure if it's something to do with muscle loss with ageing or I have done too much of walking.
