Only Me…

My husband and I stopped drinking soda a few years ago, so recent prohibitive costs didn’t affect us. When our local Kroger runs a buy two get three free (!) sale we can’t resist. However long the shelf life, grocers apparently need to rotate their merchandise.

Dr. Pepper has always been a favorite of ours. Today I tried opening a cold can and the following happened…

The tab broke off...

Are you a fan of carbonated drinks? What do folks in your region call them?

  1. They are sodas here and I've not had a soda in years. I drink water and when it's very hot I have a Gatorade now and then.

I used to like Dr. Pepper, too.

Have a fabulous day and rest of the week. Hugs. ♥

  2. They are known as soft drinks here. At least you could still pour the drink into a glass.

  3. Hi Darla, I stopped drinking soft drinks (this is what we call them here in Montreal) about 4 or 5 years ago. I am pre-diabetic and even the sugar free drinks have some kind of sweetener in them.
I can relate to the tab falling off, because it happened to me a good many times when I did drink soft drinks.
Thank you so much for sharing ❤️ 💕

  4. I can't drink carbonated things and haven't drank soda in over 30 years.

  5. I never buy soda for us. I do get Sprite for my great-nieces because what happens at Aunties stays at Aunties. :) XO

  6. I haven't had a carbonated beverage since sometime in the late '90s. (My stomach told me absolutely not, no, do not consume. So, I complied.) We call it soda.

  8. Should say I also have liked in the past Ginger Ale and Cream Soda. I do like dirty sodas, which I make here at home for myself on special occasions.

  9. Opening such cans can be tricky! No, I have never been a fan of carbonated drinks. The local carbonated water is just soda. Besides that, there are of course various versions of coke.

  11. Dad enjoys an occasional Diet Dr. Pepper, but mom's trying desperately to wean herself off of a years-long Diet Coke addiction. And yeah, dad says he's had the tab break off on him a time or two.
