| On the subject of fashion, this amazing guy has a YouTube channel I will share later... |
Her beautiful face brightened and she told me that her weekly chemotherapy sessions were working. I didn’t ask the nature of her cancer but I’m happy to report that she looked healthy. She then happily reported needing mere weekly treatments now and planned a swim to boost her stamina. While I like spreading tiny kindnesses hoping they’ll be passed along, the reactions very often warm my soul.
Isn’t this a perfect example of reciprocal kindness? Have you ever heard of Special Books by Special Kids?

Yes, you never know when you will be the only nice thing to happen to someone on any given day.
ReplyDeleteYes!
DeleteThat was kind of you. Good to hear her chemo is working. I have not heard of that, but you have my interest now. XO
ReplyDeleteI must warn you that the stories can be totally heart wrenching...
DeleteI'm sure she gets weird stares and intrusive questions, so your comment probably brightened her day.
ReplyDeleteI hope it did. Thank you.
DeleteShe sounds very positive. A couple of kind words can help many people. The man looks like he might be folding a fitted sheet. I better investigate.

ReplyDeleteIndeed, Darla; nothing like a few kind words. And our hearts warm up when it's returned in equal measure.
Thank you for sharing that link to Special Books by Special Kids. SBSK sounds like a very nice initiative. Also, I came to know about Stromme syndrome from one of the videos there.
Hugs, my dear.
DeleteIt may have warmed your soul, but it did far more than that for this precious woman. You made her day, week and month. Bless you.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and rest of the week. Love and hugs. ♥
Hugs and blessings, my dear.
