I try to eat healthy but sometimes a frozen pizza is just too tempting. With innumerable options available, my husband and I discovered the Schwan’s Red Baron brand launched in 1976 to be superior. They aren’t overly expensive as well as being tasty. Still, my guy often asks that I put on extra toppings.
For the first time I found adding grated mozzarella warped the crust during baking. The taste did not suffer any harm. I suppose the cheese adding moisture caused this.
Do you think my theory is correct? And are you a pizza fan? If so, what are your preferences?

We love pizza here and make our own every other Monday. Tonight is pizza night. Ours has cheese, olives, pepperoni, onions and mushrooms. Delicious.
ReplyDeleteWe often eat things we shouldn't. Today we went to a local store because we were hungry for Oreo ice cream. Delicious.
Have a fabulous day and week. Hugs. ♥
Life is short and sometimes we just have to indulge. :) Hugs, my dear.
DeleteYes, I do think you are correct about the warping. I like most pizzas, with a preference for some spiciness but no anchovies.
ReplyDeleteI like some spice. :)
DeleteI don't have enough room in my freezer to keep frozen pizzas. (Roommates.) If I'm in a pizza mood, I have to bake immediately or go out for takeout pizza. We've got some good ones in the neighborhood, though.
ReplyDeleteThat looks good. My favorite kind is chicken bacon ranch and I like meatball too. XO
ReplyDeleteYum!
DeleteYUM! I love pizza but can't have it anymore due to a dairy protein allergy, booo!

DeleteI've been trying some of the recipes on fb Dollar Store Dinners page. She's really good, also kind. So I now make one routinely--tortilla pizza. Just a flour tortilla, brush with oil and prebake to crisp it. Take out of oven, add some tomato sauce, pizza sauce, spaghetti sauce, whatever you have. I had a can of spaghetti sauce. Spread it around. Add any ingredients you want on it, then sprinkle with shredded cheese and pop back into the oven until cheese melts. Under ten minute pizza, but all the ingredients added, helps if they are already hot, because the cheese will melt fast.
ReplyDeleteEven though they don't eat it out any more, my mom and dad used to love Harris Teeter's (the local grocery chain) fresh made pizza. These days, however, and especially since there are no Harris Teeters around us, mom makes her own whole wheat pizza dough and loads her pizza with tons of veggies. Oh sure, dad's learned to like it, but often longs for good old pepperoni/sausage/beef pizza slathered with extra cheese.
