Fall Fun at the Garden Center

Browsing garden centers is one of my favorite relaxing activities, even if I leave wishing we had the space and money to bring home half the plants. A coupon gave me the excuse to shop and what a delightful surprise to find elaborate decorations around every corner and down every aisle.

Spongebob Squarepants (!) greeted me...

Upon checking out I praised their efforts and learned that one employee spent that very morning bringing over all her creations one by one. My timing could not have been better. Skeletons, witches, scarecrows, festive flower displays, and every type of ghoul and creepy crawler abounded. I don't want to overdo it, so here a few more of the most unique.

Cousin It among the perennials...

With these next two, one was beautiful and the other downright creepy. I'm sure you can guess which is which.

The Lady of the Harvest

At least it's not the 'Headless Horseman'!

Are your local businesses and neighbors going all out as ours seem to be?

  1. Very nice. Yes, Halloween has descended upon us. Some have gotten really creative with their decor.

  4. I've seen a few fun stuff here too. I think there will be more as we get closer to Halloween. Love it.

Have a fabulous day, Darla. Big hug. ♥

  5. Not really, not here. I usually don't have a lot of trick or treaters on a good year, due to having fun hating neighbors, won't say which ones. So, with the covid thing this year, not sure if I should have candy here and my light on or not. I'd wear a mask. It's usually one of my fun nights. How about you? Will you turn off the lights and turn away kids or mask up and go ahead with it?

    1. We haven't seen kids visit for the last few years. ~sigh~ I once enjoyed doing it up big, too.

  6. The last photo is a very creepy figure indeed. I don't know if I'd want that one in my yard but its very Halloween.

  7. Local business, for sure, I think more so this yr then a lot of yrs past due to the fact they feel like we all need it, and they prob need it also. As for my hood, there have been several homes through here that have done it for yrs and I love it. This yr though, its more. I have a folder on my fb for Halloween 2020 and I take pics here and there along the way to put in there. Up the street has a great and BIG, lots of stuff out. Me....I did not however do my yard this yr. Last yr when I took my stuff up at the old house I was having a bad flare and I decided I was not doing it anymore, took too much out of me.....I took it up and gave to Amber.....haha, so this yr I was wishing I had it all back! Crazy I know. But in a couple of post from now you will see that I did a porch board for Halloween and I bet you like it......

  8. Well, dad finds the Lady of the Harvest the creepiest and says he'd like that in our new yard. He's always had a penchant for creepiness and can usually see it in things most "normal" people would find anything but. We all have our thing, I guess.
