New Music!

I am a recent media socialite (is that a phrase?) and signed up for Instagram a few weeks ago. Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe fame is one of the artists I follow. The bass player and lyricist extraordinaire never stagnates, always looking for the next artistic outlet. He also stays alert for musicians to promote.

Palaye Royale
And I am extremely grateful to him for introducing me to the group Palaye Royale. A little lighter than my usual listen of late, the album ‘Boom Boom Room’ is playing as I type and I’m liking the sound. A lot.

They consider themselves a concept band according to Nikki, but I agree with his opinion that their sound transcends that description. Check out this great video:

I should see them live, shouldn’t I?

    1. Don't you know these guys are playing an awesome venue near my old hometown - while I'll be out of state. ~sob~ I'm half seriously trying to get my partner to change vacation arrangements to no avail.

  3. I loved Motley Crue when I was in high school. I saw them in concert twice.I see in the comment above that you won't be in town to see this group, that stinks.

    1. Aw, thanks. Motley Crue was still amazing a few years ago, as well as Sixx Am, Nikki's other band.

    1. I think so! Wish we could go together. ~grin~ Or I could go on a sail with you (maybe a short one for this landlubber, though). Be well!

  5. I really can't decide how I feel about their sound. There look does nothing but I feel like their music is just lacking something.

That aside, I would say if you dig em, see em. No harm in it. I've got a few bands on my list that I've been meaning to see myself. :)

    2. I go to several sides of the 'rock' aisle. Were all involved younger, I would have loved to have seen the classics like The Doors although I still have the opportunity to see Metallica and Blue Oyster Cult if I get lucky. Disturbed is one of the bands that should still be touring but, if they ever do it again, Rob Zombie and Powerman 5000 would definitely be on that list. When all is said and done though, I definitely intend to see Ninja Sex Party and Starbomb whenever they're back in the LA area again (was super sick the last time I was going to see them)

    3. Thanks, Robert! I never heard of NSP or Starbomb before and plan to check them out.

  6. Darla, you have been in my thoughts. Hoping all went well with your mom's service. So far Lily has not managed to get out of the house when I let the dog out, it has been close though. The screened in front porch has been great though, she can go out and watch the birds and squirrels...and stretch out in the sun.
