C is for The Cure

It’s embarrassing but I only came to understood this band’s name a few years ago. They stayed true to the cliche of sex, drugs, and rock and roll since “the cure” refers to drug and/or alcohol addiction treatment. On that note I find The Cure's music plenty addictive. Robert Smith is simply fabulous.

Crumpled is my fake band for today. It was going to be Corrupted Angel until yesterday's wind storm ripped at a chunk of our house (pictures below). Crumpled might have a sound similar to the Goo Goo Dolls.

By the way, our flashing beat the roof like a whip before pieces started breaking off - a frightening sight. I ventured out several times to collect pieces before someone got injured by our flying debris.

  1. The roof flashing ripping off looks scary, Darla! You were safe, right?

The Cure - I used to drive my Mom crazy with Friday I am in love. I used to listen to them a lot, years ago. You brought back some fun memories. And yes, I am playing them right now and singing along loudly!
I haven't heard Crumpled - but one thing I know - when I come here, I'd better be signed in to YouTube because I cannot bear to just read a band's name without knowing what they sound like! Also about to check out Corrupted Angel!

    Hugs Darla!

    1. Oh, Vidya, I apologize. Corrupted Angel is another fake name that I changed after the storm. I'm silly. ~grin~ Thank you for the kind word! I love that you enjoy(ed) The Cure.

  3. Love The Cure! Must admit, I didn't know what the name meant until I read your post. Friday I'm In Love is a classic. You've made go and search it out to listen to again. Around My Kitchen Table

  7. I love The Cure. Was there widespread wind damage from the storm? Will you hire out to fix it or DIY?

    1. How cool, Strayer! I think it would be wonderful meeting you in person. We were lucky in the storm but my partner intends to hire the work done because neither of us is comfortable working on ladders. ~grin~ You would probably have such damage already fixed by now with your ingenuity and practical work ethic. Call it frugality if you will, but you inspire me.
