Yeah, their name starts with
a number, but I just had to write about these amazing Croatian cellists. I’m
breaking another self imposed technicality, too, because I didn’t hear their
music on WNKU. Instead I heard the DJ announce their upcoming show in Cincinnati. The way these
two manipulate pop music through their unconventional instrumentation astounds
me no end. And they are performers through and through.
For today’s fake group, I am
picturing someone like the Gorillaz with animated characters posing as its
members. I’ll call them Two Fish, with their animation being a nod to Dr.
Suess.
All the real tunes air on member supported WNKU out of the University of Northern Kentucky. The web page features the current playlist and live streaming.
Wow, those cellists are awesome. I'd love to hear them play a classical piece.
ReplyDeleteAnother day in Amble Bay!
Aren't they good? I wonder if there is a standard they've played for Youtube. Hmmm... You're making me think I should check. Thanks!
DeleteWonderful! I love the audience response, especially right at the end. Like the video for your fake group too.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed this. Be well!
DeleteI'll have to check out the video when I'm not in a classroom with everyone else reading silently... I think I might enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to enjoy them. And have a lovely day!
DeleteI really enjoy 2Cellos! Excellent choice for today.

Thank you! I'm really glad you enjoyed this. Be well!
DeleteWow! That was really well done! Are you familiar with Los Indios Tabajaras? If not, check them out on YouTube. They were two guitar playing brothers from Brazil (1940s-1960s). Amazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tip! I will check these brothers out. Los Lobos are another group you might enjoy.
DeleteThey are very impressive, nice choice.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you approve. Be well!
DeleteI like what they do with those cellos! Great stuff.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nick! I'm so glad you enjoyed their performance.
DeleteOMG, 2Cellos. The video is priceless. They rock those cellos, like metal stars on guitars. How many strings did they break in the end on those bows!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you liked it! I thought the same thing the first time I saw them. ~grin~ Thanks for stopping by.
