M is for Mad Anthony
Mad Anthony’s “Sad Songs” does not have particularly compelling lyrics. However, I really appreciate the overall sound. Interestingly, I don’t understand how this tune fits the groups proclaimed genre mix of stoner rock, grunge, and punk.
Today’s sham is named Monkey Funk. My imaginary critics liken their sound to Blink 182.

At the first of the song, I thought MA's song sounded a lot like Stoner Rock but it diverged quickly from my stereotypical memory of that genre.
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting! Thank you for sharing.
DeleteIt's just about the sound! I think I'll go with you sham band today!

I'm glad you enjoyed one of them and found it. Best wishes!
DeleteHi Darla
ReplyDeleteMad Anthony's song reminded me of directions for shampoo. Wet hair. lather. rinse. repeat.
I have a difficult time deciphering the different Blink 182 songs as well. They all sound the same to me.

Thank you for making me laugh, Mary. I hope you are having a lovely day!
DeleteNot a bad song, but I don't think it is a mix of those 3 genres either.
ReplyDeleteThanks for weighing in! I appreciate it.
DeleteThe song didn't play for me on your video or Debbie's link... I do like a bit of Blink 182 though!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds very grunge to me.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a band I might steal Monkey Funk
