M is for Mad Anthony

Mad Anthony’s “Sad Songs” does not have particularly compelling lyrics. However, I really appreciate the overall sound. Interestingly, I don’t understand how this tune fits the groups proclaimed genre mix of stoner rock, grunge, and punk.

Today’s sham is named Monkey Funk. My imaginary critics liken their sound to Blink 182.

  1. At the first of the song, I thought MA's song sounded a lot like Stoner Rock but it diverged quickly from my stereotypical memory of that genre.

  5. Hi Darla

Mad Anthony's song reminded me of directions for shampoo. Wet hair. lather. rinse. repeat.

I have a difficult time deciphering the different Blink 182 songs as well. They all sound the same to me.

  6. Not a bad song, but I don't think it is a mix of those 3 genres either.
