O is for Frank Ocean

Never having developed a taste for R&B, I find “Pink + White” extraordinary. Rock and roll at its most cliché is about drugs, sex, and rock and roll. Frank Ocean’s “Pink + White” turns this inside out and back again, lamenting lost love and drug addiction in a most wrenchingly soulful manner. If you're interested, there is a great article at Bustle.com:

For fun after that heavy blurb, let’s hear from my little creation Otter Parade. This young quintet aspires to follow in the footsteps of the Violent Femmes. I really adore “Blister in the Sun”.

  1. I love Blister in the Sun too. A quintet of otters parading down the sidewalk, singing, I can see it.

  2. Yep...not into R&B. I am pretty limited on my music. I like country but I love the oldies best of all. Great pics for your O though....which reminds me I need to go post my O....

    1. So glad you like it, Keith! The song featured in a great movie called "Gross Point Blank" several years ago. I had to buy the soundtrack. ~grin~ Happy Blogging!

  8. Oh, groan, "Blister in the Sun"... Not a fan. I think I've heard it too many times. Totally burned out on it.

    1. I understand. I'm glad I used it, though, as Keith across the pond never heard the tune. ~grin~ Be well!

    1. I'm surprised at myself for writing without music today. ~grin~ Do you like the new, often pop sounding country music or do you prefer old school? Myself, I prefer Johnny Cash. Happy Blogging!
