I is for Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit

I must confess to having some difficulty finding a band for the letter I. So I did a search through the WNKU playlist. Hopefully, ‘the 400 Unit’ following his name doesn’t technically make this for the letter J. I all ready had one for that letter! But this rock flavored country sound had me bobbing my head. I hope you enjoy the tune with its bittersweet message.

My artificial group today goes by the name Invisible. They play music much like classic Skid Row, complete with power ballads.

  1. Jason's song wasn't my usual sort of thing but I enjoyed it just the same. I also have a band for you - Idlewild. Great Scottish indie rock band, they started out with a lo-fi punk sound but later mellowed out and had some Americana-tinged, slide guitar, countryesque vibes on some of their later tracks. I know they have a following in America, but maybe not too big. Check 'em out!

  3. Sometimes in doing these challenges, we have to take certain liberties with some of the letters. I think you made an excellent choice for today's letter. I also am a fan of Skid Row, so I would most likely listen to your fictional band.

  5. It was just announced that Jason Isbell will be joining Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan for an Outlaw Music Fest Tour. My letter J is a Willie song. Hugs!

  7. Oh wow, my I word was invisible, too. The band sounds very country. And I think you're okay here. I mean, sometimes we have to cheat a little to make things fit the alphabet, right?
