A Fowl Day?

I saw what I guess to be Canada goose feathers drifting outside a home improvement store today. No other shoppers seemed to notice.
This drift, trapped along the curb...

I hope no bird got hit by a car. There was no sign of an injured animal.

Is this something that would draw your attention? Do you think the store workers perhaps cleaned out an abandoned nest?

  1. I think wind blown and gathered in a corner. Maybe they moult a bit at this time of the year.

    1. Ooh, that's a good point about moulting. And debris does get blown into corners. Best wishes!

  2. We have lots of feral cats here and they were killing the birds we have been feeding for years. We quit feeding them. So sad to see their mangled bodies in our back yard.

Have a fabulous day and rest of the week. Hugs. ♥

  3. Canada Geese are huge, but cumbersome in take off, if on the ground. Hope one wasn't crossing a road on foot. Was there water nearby? We get thousands of them passing over, spring and fall.

    1. I believe there are ponds of varying sizes all around that area. I've seen a goose killed by a car. :( No doubt that vehicle got some serious damage. Interestingly, they don't seem to migrate to or from Ohio these days. Be well!

  5. Canadian geese are messy creatures. That could just be from a small one that lost its feathers as it gained adult feathers. But I know nothing for sure, so who knows?

    1. Since I saw neither blood nor a body, I'll think the best of that situation, whatever the case. :)
