Sticking Out Like a Sore Thumb

I am very fortunate when it comes to pain, sore muscles from exercise the normal extent. A few evenings ago, however, something protruding from the bottom of our stainless steel pan gouged my thumb. My husband, quick to help out, guided me through the simple use of Bleed Cease. In past, I put antibiotic ointment on a small cut first, which negated the chemical process. Oops. When brave enough to pull off the bandage covering cottony fibers, I found an amusing sight.

Look Like an Artist You Know?
Andy Warhol is memorialized by a very cool museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. If you ever are in the area, I recommend visiting.

There, we learned he collaborated with his mother
on a book of lithographs called "Holy Cats".
I could not find an affordable copy.
Guess who henceforth broke open her new package of reusable housekeeping gloves? I’m sure it will lessen with time, but do you know a way to expedite reducing the gloves’ rubbery stench?

  1. I agree, your injury looks like Andy Warhol's head!
I have a small book of Andy Warhol's cats, but cannot find it right now; maybe it's a souvenir-sized version?

  2. Baby powder covers a lot of things. I'd try that. Hope this heals quickly.

Have a fabulous day. Big hug. ♥

  3. Shouldn't you use gauze, and not something with fibers?

Ahhh yes, those heavy kitchen/cleaning gloves! They would protect, but germ gloves would cut through. You need heavy ones!!!!!! >,-)

    Stay calm,
    With common sense,
    Courage!

    1. Actually, Bleed Cease is superior to gauze during an active bleed. Thanks for the concern and advice!

  5. I suspect such things are going to be more common in the coming days. That is, seeing familiar figures in strange things. But yeah, I see Warhol on your thumb.

  7. I don't like to use cotton fiber anything. When I cut my finger on the bottom of the dryer, after it was stitched and when the stitches needed out, my friend volunteered help, which wasn't much help. She tried to dab it with cotton balls before plunging scissors into my flesh to cut the stitches. I had to stop her and it didn't heal right after that, because those cotton fibers kept working their way out.

  8. Oh Darla....I cut, scratch, or poke myself more times a week then I could ever share! lol...Love this cotton fiber look you got going on there! Never heard of Bleed Cease. I will need to check that out. You know also from reading my blog that being in the kitchen, around pots, pans, knifes, or dishes is not my best place to be. HAHA. I found a box full of gloves I use sometimes in crafting. I broke them open and wore a pair to the store the other day. I kept my hands away from my face and put Vicks up my nose hoping that will help KILL any germ that tried to venture up the nose! Plus, I love that smell of Vicks. HAHA. Trying to stay in but had to go to the store cause at the height of all this here in TN was Sat...I was moving and getting food was not on my list of "NEED"...I needed to get MOVED. Yesterday I went to move a few smaller things and do a little cleaning at the other house. Moving in the rain with four boys tracking crap in and out, its a mess.
