Wednesday, my husband and I planned lunching out. As the primary driver I don’t mind most weather. With possible hail forecasted, however, we agreed to stay home and not risk vehicle damage.
Today (Thursday) our lawn needed mowing so badly that I decided to brave the light rain indicated on my smart phone app. I kept going until the raindrops turned to hail.
Those little ice balls sting! At least I managed to finish the job between downpours. It’s not unprecedented for me as I’ve planted spring flowering bulbs in bad weather many autumns.
Are you a plant fan? Have you ever worked in torrential rain?
Dearest Darla,
ReplyDeleteOh, a garden needs to be cared for and rain or shine it is a must do. Going out for a luncheon is easier to cancel.
Yes, those ice balls do sting—have been on the bike and riding through to reach home.
In summer it is not that bad if you get rained or hailed upon when working outside.
Both our gardening times are almost over... age + health wise.
Now the Mexican crew takes care of it.
Hugs,
Mariette
Hugs, my dear.

DeleteI'd've stayed home rather than brave hail, too. Yikes. Stay safe.

DeleteHail actually damaged our roof enough, one year, that the roofs took out the valleys and installed new ones, and the leaves of our hosta plants were cut from the hail.
ReplyDeleteYes, The Hubby and I were caught in a downpour while on a walk, and I'll never forget how long it took for me to warm up afterward.
Afterward I took the longest, warmest shower I'd taken in years. lol Be well!
DeleteWow! Your lawn already needed to be mowed. We had snow covering ours yesterday. I have not worked outside in bad conditions and rarely do in good ones. :) XO
ReplyDeleteHugs, my dear.
DeleteI got tickled. Loved this post! You are my kind of friend. XX

DeleteI don't like to be out in the rain, I might melt LOL!
ReplyDeletelol
DeleteMy lawn needs mowed badly too. Brave of you to brave the stinging hail to do it. This time of year, its tricky to get anything done outside.
ReplyDelete~hugs~
DeleteYou are brave to mow in such weather. I would not do it.
ReplyDeleteI honestly thought the rain would taper off, not turn into hail. lol
DeleteDad started the mowing season at the boss's property last weekend, and by the time he left for a few days off this past Friday it needed it again. He's seen hail a few times, but never very big. Lastly, he says he loves working outside in any kind of weather.

DeletePlants, plants and more plants. Just waiting on April 15 for the safe state of planting. WAITING.....lol....we had some weather like that on Tuesday, no rain, wind and cloudy and hail! Nuts. Yard has been cut once, two weeks ago today but my riding mower will be here Wed. YAY....have a couple of gal pals coming to visit and are hauling the mower to me. I left it in Hermitage cause my friend Chris was working on it. New battery and new carburetor, should be good as new now. YAY.
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
DeleteLove my plants, and at time do not mind tending to them during a moderate downpour
ReplyDeleteAh, a kindred soul. :D
