A Day Out and About

I was fascinated to find this derelict power station being dismantled. It’s been out of service a long time.
It looks like Pripyat to me...

Just before midnight must have been set on purpose...

Heavy rains washed debris across the riverside trail like I’ve never seen. At least flash floods weren’t a threat this day.

Water levels remained high. The nearby damn is like a waterfall.

Busy with domestics duties I fell behind reading blogs, let alone posting. I have a rather neat (at least to me) video from that day.

Aren’t interactions with fellow bloggers some of the best? What are you up to these days?

  1. Keeping up with my blogging buddies is so very fulfilling. We share each others joys and sorrow. As it should be.

Have a fabulous day and week. Hugs. ♥

  2. Dearest Darla,
Oh, when I went with Pieter to Warner Robins = one hour drive from us for his cardiologist appointment we saw lots of flooding. The water is so high everywhere due to all this rain.
Yes, interactions with other bloggers are of great value!

    1. I've walked or ridden a bike there many times, but every season brings something new.

  5. I look forward to seeing what fellow bloggers are doing. Its a bright spot. We have a small power producing dam on the S. Santiam a few miles out of Lebanon. It gets pretty wild, when heavy rains hit. Can't wait for your video. The clock stopping just before midnight has to be significant.......

  7. They are good photos. I wonder what fuelled the power station.

  8. Well, right now I am sitting here, in my glider on the deck watching tv and commenting on your block. We have actually been a few days without rain but they are saying that we will be getting more and maybe storms tomorrow. HAHA....It's easy to fall behind on blogging esp when seasons change. Spring brings on the yard work, the planting, and just getting out in the sunshine. Okay, kept you waiting long enough, a pepita is the inside meat of a pumpkin seed.

    1. I've done that on occasion, though the practice is frowned upon here. :P

  13. Dad says he always feels like he's behind on the blogging thing. We pretty much only post/comment/read in the early mornings, so our time here is limited. When dad retires in a hundred years, he swears he'll spend more time here. You and all our bloggy furriends are about as social as he and mom get. Mom's not patient enough to share blogging duties, but since dad started this with old Orbit, it's his thing solely. Lastly, he keeps saying one of these trips up to see half of the grands, he's gonna stop in at Animal Shelter Volunteer Life in Norwalk, and hopefully try to arrange an in-person meeting with Ellen, too since his daughter & kids aren't far from her.

    1. I understand; though retired, I have never-ending duties: feed kitties, scoop litter, play with kitties, throw/handout treats, clean water sources, feed, play, repeat. lol And then there's the less fun human cooking, cleanup, and now gardening stuff. But I'm blessed having loved ones needing my care.

Your humans meeting Ellen would be awesome! I need to work something out with beloved bloggers within a decent range.
