Sleepy Girl February 2018 - Better Days |
In fact, I made an
appointment yesterday to, in all likelihood, have a veterinarian ease Tilly
from misery this very afternoon. Letting her go seemed the kindest thing as her
breathing had taken a serious turn for the worst over the last day and a half.
God and perhaps Tilly herself,
in a way, took that painful decision out of our hands. For that, and our near
twenty years of memories, we are grateful.
Peace and blessings to all.
I'm so sorry, Darla. It's so painful to let them go, but she left on her own terms. May she rest in eternal peace.

DeleteOh Darla, I am so sorry. And like you, I hate putting one down but I can't let them suffer. Molly was suffering, I had to do it. But Tilly was not and she had you two right with her till the end. I am sure that made her very happy and loved. Goodbye sweet Tilly, rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteIt saddened me that you lost Molly so soon after your mother, though I like to think Molly might now be with her doting owner. ~hugs~ Thank you for the kind words.

DeleteSo sorry, Darla. Your Tilly sounded such a lovely cat. It's so hard to lose our pets, isn't it? It is much better if they're not euthanized. We had booked our old very ill cat to be euthanized but two days before he sat between us on the sofa and quietly passed away.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm glad your kitty was home, too, at the end. We hated making that decision.
DeleteOh Darla, though we did not know Tilly we were saddened to hear of her passing, especially after all those many years. It made dad think about his dear old Orbit, who was such a close part of dad for about 22 years. We're sending healing thoughts your way.
ReplyDeleteTwenty-two years! Amazing. And thank you so much for the kind words.
DeleteI'm very sorry Tilly is gone but glad you didn't have to take her to the vet. I hate doing that, even though it seemed like the kindest thing.
ReplyDeleteI think Tilly was lucky tho, she had a long life with people who loved her.
Thank you. She was a character who was much loved, for sure. :)
DeleteOh, I'm so sorry to hear about Tilly :( The pictures of her are really sweet. Take care - keeping you in my thoughts.
