Outrageous Winds, Minor Crummy Luck – & – Deranged Behavior

In my mid thirties, I briefly weighed 112 pounds, or just under 51 kilograms. While my guy then begged me to stop losing weight and keep myself around 118 or more, Wednesday’s wind would have knocked me off my feet. This day it pushed my fat body across the parking lot.

Once I returned home my husband told me he heard our pellet grill blown off the back deck. I disentangled the mess and can only hope it will be safe to use. We shall see.

On Tuesday I went swimming. Near the end of my laps, the female lifeguard bent down to me saying, “Ma’am, I promise you’ll want to get out of the pool now.”

I’d witnessed a strange exchange between a sketchy looking guest and the male lifeguard. The guest left, then returned, and I saw a call being made. As it turned out, this persistent swimmer defecated in the pool. I can only imagine his nasty act stemmed from mental illness.

I informed another swimmer and soon after warned two women entering the area. To lighten the mood, I added, “Fingers crossed, it’s just a candy bar.” The women knew this old movie scene and laughed, much to my delight.

Are you familiar with this relevant film reference? Either way, have you seen the flick “Caddy Shack”?

  1. Ohhhh , yikes Darla, that's icky! I remember that movie scene, it was sooo funny. I can't with public pools, mainly due to my chlorine allergy. But now they have baby swimming classes and kids in the pool with diapers. Can't deal with swimming in poop and pee although I know at the lake or the rivers I'm swimming in not only animal/bird poop and pee but that of people who pee off the side of their boats (by the score) or otherwise use the waterways as their bathrooms.

  2. I recall laughing so dang hard at the final bit of this scene!
Otherwise, the rest of the movie is just meh, even if The Hubby finds it hilarious and quotes from it often *eyeroll*

  3. Nope, never seen Caddyshack. I was too young when it came out. (It was rated R, right? I haven't thought about going back and revisiting it since I've been old enough.)

    Glad you were warned. Ick.

  5. Our film industry was pumping out films when Caddy Shack was made, due to government assistance. Not all of them have stood the test of time, and while I did see Caddy Shack at the time. I cannot remember this scene at all. It is quite funny though. My building's pool was once out of action for a week after 'an incident involving a young child'. I discovered later what the incident was.

  7. Yes, I know that scene. And yuck on the pool. That is one reason I really don't care for public pools. Glad you were able to be warned to get out before you swam passed it.

    1. It was far away from me but with the water circulation the lifeguards were wise to evacuate us. Thank you for the kind words, my dear.

    1. I wish we could view it together. ~nods~ Wait, technically we could. I could send you a code so you can tap into our Plex server complete with all our purchased flicks and TV shows; we could literally screen anything at the same time. I'll mention this offer to my husband but I doubt he'll object. :D Send me an email if you're interested. Hugs, my dear.

  9. Dad says he knows that movie and that scene well. The winds here have been quite nasty as well, and last Saturday dad got a call from the boss that a mile-tall pine came down across their driveway. He had to go take down what he could to clear the driveway, and called in the pros to take care of the rest on Tuesday. His 18" Stihl was no match for the lower half of the tree. Last, from his apartment maintenance days he's collected some, umm, interesting swimming pool stories, many of which he can't share here.
