Well,
it's time to let go my stubborn hold onto Microsoft Windows 7 as the company no longer
provides security updates. My husband, the dear, offered to upgrade my laptop
as soon as I save off all documents, Internet bookmarks, etc.
I’m
delighted to report that his machine, loaded with Windows 10, accessed my iPod
Touch without delay. That convenience will be nice. (fingers crossed) I just
need to do my part.
Procrastination
aside, on the way home from a recent errand I decided to drive around the
neighborhood. A few blocks from our street exist some of the ugliest houses I have
ever seen. Pulling over to sneak a few photos made me think of Pam, especially
when I saw the following mailbox. ~grin~ Sad to say, the grubby thing matches sad
surrounding duplexes.
Sorry my focus is worse than I realized. The dreary weather doesn't help. |
Yikes! |
O Lawd, save us from ugly houses! And I have no idea what those things on the roof are, other than maybe some sort of ridge vent, but I don't think they are being used correctly. Ugly as sin!
ReplyDeleteYou have such useful information to share. Thank you!
DeleteYikes. That is ugly.
ReplyDeleteWay to go on Windows 10. The updates take longer, but I work 10 just fine.
Have a fabulous day, Darla. Big hug. ♥
Thanks! My hubby has a way of making 10 look like 7, even. Be well!
DeleteThose don't look half bad to me. I suppose that means that the houses around here you'd totally hate.
ReplyDeleteWhy did you hold on to Windows 7 so long? I'm not terribly enamored of Windows 10, but it does the job.
I'm just stubborn. :) That was not one of the ugliest houses. I need to capture more images. Take care!
DeleteThose things on the roof may be air vents. Usually they aren't as obvious and are right on the peak, but - whatever.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the information. Be well!
DeleteYep...not sure about the dividers. I would love to see more pics of the ugly homes. I love blogging about things that I see and wonder about. And I love that you found that cool mailbox!!! Thanks for the shout out about them. HAHA....I have noticed lately that I have not been pulling out my camera to shoot a lot of off the wall things. Course I have not been out and about as much. Sort of stayed close to home during the holidays. But I have been feeling the itch to grab the camera and head out to some cool old run down neglected houses....
ReplyDeleteby the way...I have missed you blogging.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the kind words! Be well, my dear.
DeleteDad's a computer idiot, so we're gonna stay away from commenting on that, but he does say- there surely are some hideous homes around us as well. Unfortunately, it's more due to upkeep than anything. He and mom have been house-hunting around the city, and the only ones within their range are dilapidated horror shows that need to be torn down and replaced. Dad says he's about ready to toss the socks and shoes, cut his jeans and move right down to the beach permanently.
ReplyDeleteI doubt he's an idiot. ~grin~ And I'm with him on living on the beach! I like to imagine a shack to call my own overlooking the Atlantic. :)
DeleteO yes, they look a bit odd, to say the least.
ReplyDeleteEven if they were rain gutters, it could have been better designed!
By the way, it is always good to move to the latest version of software, as early as possible.
Thanks for the opinion and wise advice. Take care!
