Our summer produced terrible
gardening weather. Watering grass and perennials not in budget, I lamented
disappointing flower displays and a lackluster produce harvest. Invading
species flourished, of course. Weeding became a regular source of cathartic
exercise.
Oh, well. We can only hope
next year is better. In addition, end of season surprises delighted me. First, a purple coneflower:

Meanwhile, our dryer vent provided a good nesting spot for some rodent. So that issue is fixed. Though we could have saved money with a DIY investigation, my husband considers the professional cleaning a good investment. The heavy duty machines are worth preserving, for sure.
In an unrelated question, have you ever gotten collection agency notification on a medical bill you never received?
Nope can't say I have gotten one but I have a friend that got one that went back years....Glad the dryer was not the biggest of issues that it could have been. It is 7 am right now and my dryer is running now. HAHA just wished I could stay on top of everything else...haha. Yep, I usually have a nice yard with plants all over, this past yr they struggled between a really hot and dry month and me not having the desire to give them the love they needed.
ReplyDeleteYou do such much, though! I'm always impressed. ~hugs~ Be well.
DeleteThank you....pushing and pushing gets things done only it is never enough. I can only push to get one thing done then...I am done.
DeleteWe have lots of lovely weeds too. It's just how it is. We always say maybe next year too, but next year never comes.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got the dryer fixed. Not having a washer and dryer isn't a good thing.
I have never gotten a collection agency letter ever and I hope I can keep it that way, but getting one for a bill you didn't receive is not good at all.
Have a fabulous day and week, Darla. Big hug. ♥
~hugs~
DeleteWe have blowing snow, and the temps are supposed to drop into the basement! I planted in the spring and late summer, so I think everything is well established, but now everything is covered with leaves and snow! As for collection notices, I haven't received any but I worked in collections for years. First, establish that you really owe this money, and that it's not some medical office trying to double-dip (happens OFTEN). The key is to keep from getting a ding on your credit report, but to also be treated with respect. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes on the gardening! And thanks for the well wishes.
DeleteGlad the dryer is all taken care of. Yes, those big appliances are very worth being taken care of!!!! -smile-
ReplyDelete😊🔥😊
Maybe next year for the garden. I agree, a professional was probably better for that job.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteOur gardens were a bit disheveled this year, too. I'm hoping next year will be better. Ok. Really I'm hoping next year I'll be more motivated.
ReplyDeleteAt least you got one of each. My hubby got a letter from a collection agency when his identity was stolen 2 years ago. Someone opened an American Express and ordered a $7,000 exercise machine- clearly that is not something we would own :)
ReplyDeleteThings are getting worse as time develops. Emailed bills never reached us until I discovered a huge one spanning months currently in my spam email. ??? And that's the only one. But identity theft? Yikes! That's got to be worse. Beset wishes!
DeleteYes to the bill...and the collection agency will let you arrange time payments, while the hospital demanded everything up front
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for your trials and appreciate the information. Be well!
DeleteThanks for your sweet comment on my blog today...
ReplyDeleteYou deserve every kindness. ~hugs~ Be well!
DeleteYou are so sweet and always so nice about checking on me. Right now even with the cold I seem to be doing well. AMAZING.
DeleteOh gosh, a rodent nest. Glad you had a professional company clean it out, and mouse/rat whatever, probably took off! I would have! Yes, I have been in that unfortunate position of a collection agency getting its hooks into me, after never getting a bill, years and years ago. Its scary and I didn't know how to proceed.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind words. Sorry you suffered that frightening experience. I was intimidated by a company in my twenties. This new experience is worse in our digital age, as even tracking down phone numbers is a trial. ~sigh~ Be well, my dear.
DeleteHey lady lou....hoping all is well with you. Thanks for stopping by and always leaving a comment on the blog but I so miss your blogs.
ReplyDeleteAwww... You're very kind! I hope you enjoy today's silliness I posted. :)
