Another Summer Comes to a Close

There isn’t much I mind about the coming of autumn. Cooler temperatures and less time cutting grass are much anticipated. This summer has been rather brutal for me, too. Severe allergies, a hornets nest, swarming ants, and other garden related mishaps are just some of the indignities.

I will miss it when our black vultures and hummingbirds leave the area. The same goes for the damsel-, dragon-, and butterflies, which have been prolific this year. So have the spiders, and I can’t say I mind as they mostly stayed outdoors.

There is something else I am truly sorry to see go. Zima, I will miss you. I hope you come back next summer.

~sigh~
I’ve asked this before, but since this beverage made another limited appearance in the United States (at least), I’ll question again if you’ve ever tasted this refreshing adult drink.

  1. I've never had a Zima. We still have two months of summer left. Here in California the best boating of the year is September and October. Everyone else leaves and us boaters have the water.

Have a fabulous Labor Day. ♥

    1. We found a recipe, too. But those folks claimed never to have drunk the stuff, though, having been too young back in the day. So how would they know? ~grin~ What you found sounds a bit different, so thank you.

  3. Zima was big in the '90s, right? I recall it. Never had it. It's carbonated and alcoholic. I don't do either.

    1. We bought quite a few six packs, but drinking one a day was too tempting through this hot summer. They're almost gone. ~sigh~ I'm relieved our cucumber vines died back after he pickled over 70 jars! Be well, my dear.

  8. I have not tasted that but I mainly stick to my tea....a beer here and there but since my surgery I basically walked away from adult drinks. Hell, I used to be able to drink others under the table, 1/2 beer and clean liver, and I have a buzz.
