Sign of the Season

‘Tis the season for spicing everything with pumpkin pie flavors. One autumn, a local tire shop’s sign jokingly advertised pumpkin spiced tires for sale. That was funny. Yesterday my partner returned from the grocery store with something we absolutely, positively, did not need – pumpkin flavored doughnuts.

I don’t even eat doughnuts normally. I may not have had one in this millennium, in fact. But today I just had to have a taste.

Nicely Done, Entenmann's

The treat was so rich I’m grateful for the foresight to cut off a single bite. Don’t worry, sweets lovers. I put the rest in a sealable snack bag.

This beat the heck out of the nasty pumpkin flavored hummus I tried. That stuff tasted sour somehow. Yuck.

What’s your favorite pumpkin flavored item?

  1. Pumpkin is a thing that I avoid. I understand that it is a popular flavoring additive, and I am in the minority, but I find it as appealing as a shot of mace... Just last week, I went to the snacks aisle at my local mercantile, to purchase a package of Hostess Snow Balls, and would you believe, they were not pink or white or green... They were orange; pumpkin orange. Good grief.

    Happy T.G.I.F. Darla! :)

    1. I figured there must be folks who dislike pumpkin; didn't expect to read such in my first comment. ~grin~ Have a great weekend!

  2. Oh, my...I have grown up, I think. I used to detest everything pumpkin, except, well...pumpkins! I suddenly like Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte. Oh...My...Gosh...YUM. This made me chuckle. Bill is a fan of Entenmann's Donuts, though I don't think he has tried this one!

    1. I had that same latte at a write-in at Starbucks the other night. Yes, yum, though expensive. Be well!

  3. I wish I liked pumpkin, but I don't. I do make a pumpkin cheesecake for Thanksgiving that I have a small slice of, but that is it.

    1. Pumpkin is the only pie I truly like outside of the occasional cheesecake. Ironic it has cake in the name, no? Be well!

  5. I'm not big on pumpkin anything. Not that I begrudge anyone who enjoys it. (Although, a couple years ago I did enjoy some pumpkin chocolate chip cookies...)

    1. Hmmm... I'm not sure I like the idea of chocolate with pumpkin. Interesting. Be well!

  6. I'm not a big pumpkin fan. I've tried, but I just don't get it. Those donuts do look good though. Probably because they're donuts and they just ooze delightfully sugary calories :-)

    1. Hahahaha... How interesting that most of you friendly folks don't care for pumpkin. Be well!

  7. Oh no, pumpkin hummus. That sounds awful. I've seen those pumpkin flavored donuts at Winco Foods and wondered what they'd be like.

    1. They're super rich and I'm glad they're gone. ~grin~ Even eating half at one sitting was a bit much.
