Not an Oxford Comma

My perennial garden was designed primarily for bees and butterflies. One day I was fortunate to photograph this Eastern Comma enjoying a purple coneflower.

Breakfast on the Fly

A common species, this one struck me as particularly exceptional. My attempt to film video fell short of capturing the beauty, however.

While I just get lucky sometimes (and compositions are far from ideal), I know quite a few bloggers are prolific and gifted photographers.

  1. Catching a butterfly just right is hard. Congrats on getting the shot. I'm only an amateur when it comes to photography.

    1. We had some really early hot days. Unfortunately, that led to a short life span for our prickly pear cactus flowers. ~sigh~ Happy Gardening!

  4. Hey Darla~ I was not aware there was a such thing as litter box liners but I will look into that! Question, how often should I clean the whole thing? Thanks....Now as for your shots.....Loving the butterfly. As a photographer since 2008, I have to say that what I dislike shooting the most is weddings, babies would be next. Babies cause it is difficult to get them to do much and I don't have the props needed. Wedding~ STRESS! What I do enjoy shooting in nature. Butterflies and bees, flowers, but I also like shooting the usual item, something that most folks over look, like a rusty hinge. Family events are another thing I like to shoot. But high school seniors are the most fun. I have really enjoyed those kinds of shoots.
