Crazy “Deals” (?)

I stumbled upon a so-called bargain website months ago and have no recollection how. Considering my husband’s (greatly improving!) health and mobility issues, it’s no wonder I lost track. I did, however, keep an image for the purpose of blogging. Not only did the price make me cringe, as did the use of snake skin, but so did the structure.

I must admit to wearing a similar boot
but mine were of fabric and
had a straight heel...
Yikes!

Beginning in the mid 1980’s and only ending about a decade or so ago I often donned quite high heels, sometimes with very sharp toe points. Running through school halls, dancing well past midnight in steel toed stilettos, and then stubbornly refusing help carrying heavy items at work took their toll. As shared in 2023, I am very fortunate as simple footwear changes have relieved all pain and only my right foot developed a bunionette. Otherwise known as a tailor’s bunion, it’s named after the the tradesmens’ cross-legged posture causing the issue.

Isn’t it fascinating how medical conditions are named? Do you have issues with foot pain?

  2. Ick on the snakeskin. I never got into heels because I am a klutz and also because I am 5'10" tall. I broke my right foot when I was 15 so I do get pain in it when it is rainy weather. XO

  3. I never managed to learn how to balance in shoes like that. I never had need of heels, though, as I'm on the taller side (not tall, but not short either).

  4. You must have good balance still, to have grown up in such heels! Yes I have foot problems, mainly seisamoid inflammation on one foot. But it is likely also from bad shoes.

    1. Oh, that sounds painful. I guess my balance is still pretty good, come to think on it. If I'm exhausted from overwork, though, it's out the window. lol Best wishes, my dear.

    2. I thought once, wouldn't it be nice to have snap on or zip over outer shoes, that were stylish, and underneath would be some comfy Sketchers. You could have all kinds of "outers" of every style, but in reality, underneath---slippers or sketchers, something ultra comfy.

  5. Thankfully I don't have feet problems and I've only worn high heels three times. I don't even remember them being uncomfortable. I did have to be told how to walk in them, that is not on the heel.

  6. Dad's been struggling with, among other things, a sore, swollen ankle. He and mom are fresh off a week of vacation and they did tons and tons of walking and some hiking. His right ankle is a bit puffier than his left, but mom's been making him keep it up and iced. Oh, and those boots are, umm, wow...
