Creativity in the Kitchen

I’ve been tired of printed paper (recipes and grocery lists) becoming stained and soggy. Misplaced pens annoy me, too, another first world problem. So I turned hefty packaging into what I call a kitty caddy. :D Hot glue dots holding it all together also makes for nice nonstick footing while protecting the base.

I sealed this note caddy much earlier...

My propensity for messy spills is legendary. ~rolls eyes~ Finally, though, I am taking these unfortunate opportunities to better clean.

My photography needs work.

Have you ever used layered packing tape for waterproofing? Do you own a hot glue gun?

  1. Page protectors are great, especially for things that get used a lot.

  2. Your kitty caddy is so cute. I'm messy too and I was born in December so my wife says I'm a Sagimessius.

  3. Love the kitty caddy. Adorable. I don't have a crafty bone in my body so I don't own anything that helps make crafts.

Have a fabulous weekend. Big hug. ♥

  4. Here is a shocker for you ...I owe TWO glue guns and no, I never used tape for waterproofing. Why not get some plastic page covers that go in notebooks, just taping the top and bottom to keep the page from falling out and that should do the same thing. As for misplaced pens, I can be using one, sit it down and go to pick it back up and bam, its gone!! lol....rolls under the keyboard at work or something. Course, I am good at misplacing every thing and then I find it in the strangest place. When I worked in Photo Services before, when I worked with Phil and Jed, my pen came up missing all the time. Usually, picked up by Phil (young photographer), I ended up taping silk flowers to all my pens, they stopped running off then.

    1. Leave it to you to find a fun and creative solution. :D I've seen office folks using that technique.

    1. Not crafty? I think your crafts are just more practical and cat friendly and/or industrious repairs/building things. ~hugs~

  6. No and no to what we haven't. In spite of having numerous cooking books that are sometimes used for tried and true recipes, Household Management tends to find new recipes on the web and props up his tablet on the kitchen bar, that is the higher benchtop to the back of the bench where food is prepared.

  8. I haven't used packing tape to waterproof, but I will now. I have a glue gin and the scars to prove it- I burn myself every freakin time. :) XO
