I placed the last of our fresh fruit on a paper plate after finding a moldy mandarin orange among the rest. Without a thought I looked down and saw this:
Another day, I discovered a very sad vegetable left behind in the refrigerator. The little guy deserves a story but so far I haven’t moved forward on that.
Have you ever found a bit of desiccated produce in your kitchen? Did you know sweet potatoes can ferment if left to rot?

Hubby does the majority of cooking here and he's good about not letting anything go to waste. I laughed at your fruit though. Well done.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and week, Darla. Big hug. ♥

DeleteCute smiley face. I did not know that about sweet potatoes. :) Happy New Year! XO

DeleteWe find faces in the oddest of places.
ReplyDeleteI think we are pattern recognition machines. :)
DeleteHmmm, potato mash into moonshine? Happy face fruits, love it. What is that shriveled vegetable anyhow, a really really old cucumber? Or?
ReplyDeleteOh, I didn't say, did I? I guess that little piece of fiction needs written for a silly reveal. :D
DeleteHa, go over to my blog and see happy faces too!
ReplyDeleteThe Hubby would throw that banana into the freezer, then make a raw almond-butter and banana sandwich, with cinnamon.
Yum!
DeleteHad no clue in the sweet tater thingy.....and YES, personally I can grow some of the best, amazing, yucky and smelly science experiments in my fridge! I am so bad at cooking too much, putting it in the fridge, eating on it a couple of days and then forgetting about it. It usually gets pushed to the back of the fridge where I start the experiment!! lol....I do not make NY Resolutions but I try to make goals that I can actually live up to...one goal I have made is to make sure that food gets put away in the freezer so I stop throwing out stuff.

DeleteI can't figure out what the 2nd photo is but it's nice that your oranges & banana are happy Darla. I found a Banana that had fallen from the fruit bowl down behind our freezer once. Instead of it going soft & mushy the warmth from the freezer's compressor had dried it out completely hard.
ReplyDeleteWow! That is fascinating.
