Ouch!
It just so happens that sweet Jezebel is, like most of her ilk and myself, more awake and aware at night. And that is proving a bit problematic when I need to dose her with eye and ear medications.
-Last night I ended up with a few bloody claw punctures and various scratches. Many weren't noticed until my allergy to animals kicked in and they started itching. Heh...
Well, I have lots of antibiotic ointment and liquid bandage. And we will get through this. There is less than a week to go.
Are you aware that liquid bandage helps stop topical itching from insect bites? For whatever reason, do you attract mosquitos like I do? Have they ever followed you in a visible cloud?

Oh yes, flying, biting insects love me!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDid not know about bites and liquid bandage, though. We have an anti-itch gel, which we keep in refrigerator. So not only does it stop the itch, it is cooling.
Have you tried wrapping your cat in a towel, before the necessities? Annnnnnd, how to catch and wrap, is your question? -grin- Maybe have your husband distract her, while you come at her, from the read, with a towel?
OK, my cat having days are long gone. Not gonna' give any more suggestions. >,-)

I missed it, too. :) And I fancy myself pretty good at catching *others'* typos. Heh...
DeleteThe Hubby was punctured a week or so ago, on the inside of his wrist! He actually went into shock for a little while, although he sure as heck didn't tell me about it (!) Heck, I've been bitten, clawed, punctured, and all of my clothes have pulls from cat claws, so I may have poo-pooed his overreaction to that stab. Thankfully, it was a nothing-burger within two days. Hope you are okay!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad he recovered. :) My arm is healing fine.
DeleteI remember the battle scars of giving kitties medicine of any kind.
ReplyDeleteMosquitoes love me. I stink to high heaven of Deet during the summer months.
Have a fabulous day, Darla. ♥
I found a solid insect repellent that doesn't smell too bad. :) I hope you're having a lovely day, too!
DeleteThe other day I had an itch on the bottom of the big toe on my left foot. It had to be a bug bite; nothing else made sense.
ReplyDeleteOh, that stinks. I hope it stopped itching.
DeleteSorry you got injured. I did not know liquid bandage stopped itching, good to know.
ReplyDeleteI understand the theory is that a barrier to air makes the difference. Hope the tip helps you, and thanks for the kind words.
DeleteO Positive here....blood suckers love me! haha....Yep, that type of blood must taste amazing! Although I have found that once I stopped taking some meds, not sure which one, but they did not seem to want to taste me as much. Also, I have learned, and I need to practice this, that they tend to stay away from folks taking vit E...so will ticks. My sis in law got a nasty bite from one of her cats when she happened to be in the way of it going after another one and she ended up with a terrible infection! I did not realize that cats mouth are so nasty. But that happened at the barn also when the barn cats were babes. Chris (owner) went to grab on and it bit him. Next day he had to go to the doc, infection sat up so fast and he could not move his arm. Thank goodness Lily Shit has not bit me and she only scratched me once. She is a good girl.
ReplyDeleteOh, vitamin E. Thank you for the tip. Lily is a doll baby. Be well!
DeleteI hate mosquitos!
ReplyDeleteAgreed! And you must run into lots on your night patrols rescuing kitties. ~hugs~ Be well, my dear.

ReplyDeleteYou say I am brave to share, what I am sharing, on my blog. I don't care if I lose Readers. Not the ones I may lose over this horror.
How can I not speak up??????
How can anyone, not speak up??????
