We have stocked up on some things like flour and pasta and yeast. Our intent, if necessary, is to sell at cost if folks express need via an online neighborhood network. And I, of course, enjoyed use of the vacuum sealer.
Meanwhile, the winds around here remain crazy as always. Our sloped yard facing west is a huge factor, especially in spring and fall.
When shells starting cracking I hit the 'seal' button to halt the vacuum. |

Do this via a neighborhood network. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteAnd I do hope, that people will have learned, to keep supplies ahead, as a general practice. Not go back to acting like, oh I can always run out and get this or that. This is not hoarding. This is simple old fashioned good running of a household. -smile-
And your doing this, is a way of ... my Sig. Line.
No bad weather forecast here, thankfully. Be safe, in yours.

DeleteI dislike heavy winds, but we get breezes most of the time. We're more prone to extreme heat.
ReplyDeleteOh, I do dislike high temperatures. Stay well!
DeleteWe are pretty lucky in Massachusetts. We get an occasional severe thunderstorm and some winters are cold with a lot of snow, but nothing too bad. When are you going to shrink wrap something to torture the hubby?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you feel safe. And thanks for the giggle. I'm not sure, though, as the plastic is vital. Hmmm...
DeleteCan't get yeast for love nor money in my part of the UK. I'm not that bothered as I don't make my own bread but I've been shopping for my elderly neighbours and they ask me for it every week! Apart from that, supermarkets and shops are pretty well stocked and there haven't been shortages, apart from that brief toilet roll skirmish at the beginning of the crisis! As for the weather, we are a very temperate climate and rarely get extremes apart from the odd hurricane occasionally. We call it a hurricane, you would probably call it a stiff breeze!
ReplyDeleteNot So Sweet Toffee
That's Purrfect
You're so kind to help neighbors so. Stay well!
DeleteWe get a lot of windstorms around here, used to get more than we do lately. And we get rain, lots of rain, sometimes to the point where we have flooding but not often.
ReplyDeleteAh, yes. The rain in your region is infamous. Stay well, my dear.
DeleteThe city of Bengaluru (originally called by the Anglicized version of Bangalore), where I live, is at a high altitude. So, have a pleasant climate through the year.
ReplyDeleteJuly-Aug tends to be windy. The two rounds of rain in a year in June and around Oct-Nov can be horrible because roads get waterlogged and commuting becomes difficult.
Of course, that might be not be an issue in the "new normal" that we are in now!
I did some research thanks to your information and the area looks lovely. Strange days, no? Take care!
