Update on Tilly

Early this morning a veterinarian got a blood sample from Tilly but, bladder infection being one concern, could not retrieve any urine. Now we need to either get a sample sometime Sunday night to bring in early Monday or drop her off for however many hours it takes for them to get a sample.

I foresee her taking another trip. Poor kitty.

Tilly's Big Paws Absorb an Amazing Amount of Water
We were given a product meant to simulate litter without absorbing the liquid. But they gave us so little that I doubt Tilly would use a box with a scattering of this stuff.

Having two cats makes it that much more difficult. And I’m not about to stress Jezebel over the matter. She isn’t much younger and I don’t want to disrupt her good litter box behavior.

Meanwhile I had to clean and refill both water bowls this morning. It’s amazing how fast the water gets filthy. My socks got wet, too, and the linoleum is starting to look like the road next to a construction sight with wet clay tracked everywhere.

So, what do you have planned for the weekend?

  1. I have no plans for the weekend other then to just work on somethings I started yesterday. I have been working on redoing a guest room for months now and I am on the finishing end of it all.....Poor Tilly. I hope everything turns out okay for her.

  2. Poor Tilly. You are better off to bring her back to the vet to try to get a sterile sample directly from her bladder. I know that is what my vet always wants to do-unless it is just a way to make more money. I hope she feels better soon.

    1. Thanks! They said there will be no charge unless they have to give her fluids, so we'll see. I've been happy with this clinic from day one, which is a comfort. Thanks for the suggestion. I appreciate the concern.

    1. Thanks! No luck on the sample so far. But I have time if she'll tolerate a cup under her backside perhaps (without disrupting the stream). ~grin~ I was honestly happy to see her urinating earlier tonight. Fortunately she seems to *feel* just fine. But that's the tricky thing about cats versus dogs. Felines tend to hide pain, which makes sense when you think of a loner animal who is both predator and prey in the wild. Would you want to show weakness?

  4. Try something really like cat lax to keep her moving. Old bowels, just like with humans, they have more trouble and the water patting behavior is common here when they have some discomfort, like constipation or clogs.

    1. Thanks so much! As it turned out she has a bacterial bladder infection. But it couldn't hurt to help her bowels, as well, eh? I wish you all the best, my dear.
