| Can you make out the walnut shell behind the germinated sprout? |
On the other side of the yard I needed to clean up some aggressively growing lemon thyme. In the process of pruning dead vegetation and what was taking over the sidewalk I decided to remove an old seashell for placement elsewhere before it got lost underneath the vegetation. I didn’t expect a tiny bouquet of thyme flowers to tag along and found it quite lovely.

Are you allergic to nuts or do you enjoy eating them? Isn’t it funny that the peanut isn’t a true nut, but rather a legume?

Those are cool finds. My hubby loves nuts and has a lot of nut trees in or field. Plus he has me. :) XO

DeleteI don't eat nuts that often but I enjoy them. While I never add salt to anything, I miss the heavily salted peanuts that used to be the standard.
ReplyDeleteDear Darla, your second photo is captivating! I don't have any known allergies, so I am thankfully not allergic to nuts. My favourite nuts are cashews and pistachios. And I love Jif peanut butter! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, and Rocky has a new channel on YouTube, it is called Coffee and Dogs, just saw an episode today where he talks about the fact that he had a stroke six years ago! Wow!
Getting back to your post, here in Montreal there is a lilac tree not too far from me and sadly, when the extreme heat and humidity strike, the lilacs dry up and die. So sad! The flowers that tend to handle the heat and humidity here are the lilies and the hibiscus.
Not sure why, but I find it interesting how some flowers can handle certain conditions while others cannot.
I have never had a garden, as I have always lived in an apartment, but I do enjoy seeing gardens and thankfully I find some on my walks.
Thank you so much for sharing, dear friend, and I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
I do like nuts and I are one!
ReplyDeleteThe walnut was squirreled away...
ReplyDeleteOh, I just wanted to mention...Blogger is having serious issues. I have mentioned this in my latest Monday blog post just to alert everyone.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great week ahead, dear friend. I absolutely love your blog background, it is so soothing!
My brother loves to correct people who call peanuts "nuts". So that's funny you'd mention it.
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of walnuts, they really don't have a pleasing taste to me however, cashews, pecans, I love. I can take or leave almonds and peanuts
