I’m happy to report that my ginger infused cranberry chutney is delicious. After a few days in the refrigerator, however, the ginger sharpness intensified a bit too much. I’m planning to add jellied cranberry sauce from a can. I expect this will mellow the flavor profile and smooth out the overly chunky texture. About half will go into the deep freezer a bit later.
Do you freeze leftovers? In your opinion, what differentiates chutney from sauce?

Since I have no idea what chutney is...
ReplyDeleteWell, now you know to use less ginger if you plan to make the cranberries very far ahead. Good info.
:D
DeleteThat does sound good! We freeze leftovers lots of times.
ReplyDeleteIt can make a convenient and quick meal later.
DeleteThat sounds really good. No idea the difference between the two. I do freeze a lot of leftovers. XO

DeleteThe Hubby doesn't freeze leftovers; if we don't eat them the next day, then they are tossed out. He freezes loafs of bread.
ReplyDeleteWe hate tossing out leftovers. lol Bread is awesome to freeze.
DeleteSure lots get frozen here, but "lots" is relative since my freezer is teensy.
ReplyDeletelol
ReplyDeleteOh yum. I do freeze. Now I know you wonder what I freeze since I don't cook....I will buy a large pizza and cause I don't want it everyday for every meal, I freeze it for another time. I do use my crock pot to make soups in, that and baking is really only how I cook most times. I still cooking in the crock pot like I am cooking for a family, so that gets thrown in the freezer cause again, every meal, everyday...
