The friend I’ve mentioned several times, Scars, finally convinced his lovely lady (S) to move up from her tiny Texas town. She adored taking care of him and his ailing father. Unfortunately, less than a year later S succumbed to her long suffered epilepsy, and stayed in a coma for over a week. Even after being removed from life support her body continued fighting.
Now she is at rest, though, about an hour after Scars held the phone so S could hear the voice of one final person. His lady had taken care of an ailing matron back home and we believe this gave the ultimate closure necessary.
On the bright side, S’s ordeal healed several estranged relationships. It’s too bad her siblings and adult children didn’t show S adequate respect or affection during her lifetime.

Pointy leaves give away the cucumber... |
Can you believe I managed to confuse my pepper breeds before transplanting? Do you know that young cucumber and pumpkin plants look almost identical? ~rolls eyes~ Four cucumber plants will keep us very busy pickling this summer.-
So sorry about S. Trying times indeed.
ReplyDeleteNothing better than your own garden.
Have a fabulous day and rest of the week. Hugs. ♥
~hugs~
DeleteSo sorry about your friend. I hope she's at peace now.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteOh man, she sounds like she cared for about everyone else, so glad Scars cared about here, doesn't sound like her family did. Your vegees look so delicious and the leaves so green and healthy.

DeleteThat was a very sad loss and I'm sorry to hear that.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThat's a sad story.
ReplyDeleteBut your gardening efforts are a very bright spot to read about.
Thank you!
DeleteThat is so sad. My condolences to Scars. Nice carrots. I had no idea there was corn specifically for container gardens. XO
ReplyDeleteMy husband discovered the corn. :) And thanks for all the kind words.
DeleteWe never know the whole story though, do we?
ReplyDeleteHugs and purrs
So true. Thank you for the wise and kind words. Hugs, my dear.
DeleteI have never ever gotten a carrot to do better than 3 total at differing times got to the size of a match stick width and length. I quit with them.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your friend. Congrats on the harvest.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your friends lady friend. Sad. Wow....food, food and more food coming in. I thought about doing a small garden this yr however, common sense took over and I decided it would be best to not do one. Course, I am having trial and error with just plants and flowers on my blank canvas due to never having grown in clay like soil before. It has been a challenge so far but somethings like wildflowers and weeds have no trouble. LOL.....I have some wild sunflowers, different type that grow out here, so I am transplanting those. As for mixing up plants, I planted a yellow bush at the top of the driveway. Only the more I studied it the more I questioned what it was. I used my picture this app on it and realized it was the Whisteria I planted. I planted the yellow bush in a pot thinking it was the Whisteria and I had a place I wanted to plant it in the fall when I have the place prepared for it. OOPS......Leaving it where it is, I will make do. Then I planted a root for what was supposed to be a hydrangea, but that was not what was in the package from Wally World, it was a bush, and I would have to go scan again to see what it is called, but it was listed as being invasive. WTH!!!! lol...
ReplyDeleteOh dear, we're so sorry to read about this. Such a sad thing.
