Tenacious Terra – 6
During an early warm spell, I took Terra out back. All I have to do is display her harness, ask if she wants to go outside, and she races toward our walk-out basement door. I don’t know if the word means anything or just the actions, but it’s adorable all the same.
Did you know that we Ohio animal lovers should not only pre-treat against fleas and ticks but also beware of coyotes? Can you believe neighbors have seen coyotes walking down the middle of our predawn streets like fearless gangsters?

Our yards look much the same; still waiting for something to turn green out there!
ReplyDeleteYes, coyotes are everywhere; they are smart and travel along waterways and railroads, and they manage to get into cities.
The sunnier front gardens are popping to life. :D Best wishes and be safe!
DeleteShe is so cute. I love black kitties <3.

DeleteFleas and ticks are one reason I will not introduce my feline furs to the outdoors....I don't want to have to treat them. I have to treat Chey when and if she gets them which is not often. But I don't want to take the chance. My feline furs only need to know the screened in deck. But don't she just look adorable on her leash. Coyotes, cougars, skunks, deer and opossum are what has been seen out in our hood. And we live in a well established hood but with the building going on around us we are just moving more and more critters out of where they live to live among us.
ReplyDeleteA sunroom or screened in deck would be nice. I'm just not handy like you and paying someone is not in the budget. ~hugs~ You and the furs stay safe and be well, my dear.
DeleteMy Katie is strictly indoor. The worse thing is when visitors bring them in Then she has to have that stuff on her neck and me, mom, can't smooch her for a week because of it...and the house usually stays pretty well off if I catch it soon enough. Unfortunately in order for house fleas to die after treatment of the poor cat, they have to bite the cat.
ReplyDeleteAwww...
DeleteI have only once before seen someone take a cat for a walk. There's someone in my condo complex that does that. I bet it's part the words and part the actions. Try one without the other sometime and see.

DeleteLooks like Terra enjoys exploring. Our Angel Phoebe would get very excited to see the harness knowing it meant a walk. Coyotes are scary. XO

DeleteCoyotes in the street? Maybe they have come into town because there isn't much food around.
ReplyDeleteI must say that we are close to farm fields. Suburban streets connect them. :D
DeleteShe's very good on her harness. Yes, watch the coyotes, them being out in daylight hours is not good news.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteShe's so good on the leash! We have them here everywhere too and sometimes cougars also in urban areas.
ReplyDeleteYikes!
DeleteI think I'm in love!

:D
DeleteTerra looks like she's so good with that leash thing strapped to her neck. Me, not a big fan. I'm good with being an indoor-only cat as long as I get my sun time out on the steps behind dad's screen thing. Dad checks his Ring videos every morning to see who we had for visitors during the night. Foxes, possums and even a random neighbor cat (didn't look like Val, though) have been viewed walking up our stone walkway. Keep your eyes peeled for those darn coyotes!
