More Good News on the Family Front

Our geriatric cat Jezebel has not warmed up to the Dactyl sisters, Terra Cotta and Polly Esther. But she is resuming some normal behavior, such as not wanting to stay still for photos.

Sun Bathing Interrupted...
(Sorry, Jezebel)

No blood has spilled, though, and not a lot of loose fur flung about. So that's a blessing.

Rest and Play... Rest and Play...
Mix the Two & Repeat

As for my convalescing brother Brian, his eldest daughter visited and shared a gratefully optimistic report. She met the surgeon, who was amazed at his quick recuperation despite residual pain and possible upcoming setbacks. It's not unexpected due to the long and complicated procedure. Her younger sister plans to visit tomorrow.

Thanks again for all the well wishes. It's a much needed joy to share caring connections. And by the way, my back pain from handling Terra's antics is mild. I'm sure it wouldn't even register on the scale many folks suffer. Bless you all and your fortitude.

Change of subject: do you believe in the sad theory that civilization is nine meals from collapse? Have you seen any documentaries on modern society failing without proper infrastructural maintenance?

  1. I'm glad Jezebel is doing okay with the newbies and I'm glad Brian is doing so good. Hey, we hadn't heard about the collapse of civilization yet, but since things aren't very civilized nothing surprises.

  2. Great news on the kitties and your brother. Prayers continue.

I agree with Brian, things aren't very civilized. We both know why. Power and control.

Have a fabulous day and week, Darla. Big healing hugs coming to all that need them. ♥

  3. Nine meals....wow. I have not seen or heard that. Lily is still having issues. She never was a vocal cat but now she is. She plays with Misty, VOCALLY. I go to love on her and she gets vocal. I think all hers is just jealous. I try to not give Misty all my time but its hard when she is following me all around. jumping and sleeping on me when I sit down. I try to move her over to lay on the couch, and she will wake and BAM...on me again. I am making sure to give Lily her time. I Misty is still sleeping in the guest room so I will put her to bed and Lily and I will play. Is Jezebel black or gray? Don't you just love sweet babes. Hoping your brother keeps healing and getting better each day. Yes, I thought about a heater. I actually remember I have a small one that will work....my fear is leaving it on!!

  4. It takes time for kitties to accept each other, and it is a good sign that there is no fur flying! Best to your brother, we're sending purrs and pawsitives his way.

  5. Glad to hear Brian and Jezebel are on the mend. I'm not too worried about the imminent collapse of civilization. There are enough issues to put my worry into.

  7. Jezebel sounds very much like Queen Penelope when Kozmo and Jo Jo first arrived, It took her a good year. We are glad your brother is doing better and we send Purrayers, Love and Strength! Have a marvellously Happy Day!

  9. Had not heard about civilization's collapse but if we all don't get our shite together and start playing nice then it won't surprise me a bit. Glad Jezibel is being tolerant. Baby kittens can be wild!

  10. Maybe she'll join their play one day, or comfort one or the other when the sisters have a tiff. Good that your brother is recuperating. That was harrowing and long operation. One would think "lot of pain" after that.
