Spoiler Alert: Explaining Yesterday's Joke ...

For those who didn't get the pun (Sorry, Liz, because if you got it I know you groaned - or will soon), look close at the can the complaining explorer holds...

See it now? Heh...

And if you aren't familair with 'Off' repellent, his colleague brought 'On' by mistake. ~snicker~ And that made me think about the brand name, since who isn't likely to shout, 'Get off me!' when swarmed?

Have you ever been chased by a cloud of misquitoes? Did you know that Alaska is known for giant bloodsuckers?

  1. Well I am not sure how large their bloodsuckers are in Alaska but I have always called them Bloodsuckers. A swarm, nope but I will say that if they are around and I am in the same area, they will find me, bite me and then they invite their friends. I got the ON / Off meme right off the bat.

  2. Oh dear...having to explain the joke!
This is classic "The Far Side"!
And I know every Original Star Trek episode by heart, and heartily remember Teri Garr, and Spock with that 'cat'! They had hoped to make a "Mr. Seven" spin-off, but the actor didn't want to do it...at least, that's what I've read.
Teri Garr has been in some seriously big movies: Mr. Mom, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Tootsie, and Young Frankenstein, plus so many more. She's retired from acting now, due to her MS.

    1. I only yesterday learned of the spin-off while searching for the episode's name. ~shakes head~ You've got amazing recall. :) It's so sad about Ms. Garr. MS is a horrible affliction.

  4. I did not know Alaska was known for them. However, I did get the joke. I figured it was obvious and needed no comment.

  6. I did not know Alaska had big mosquitoes. I figured it gets so cold there would not even be as many. Thanks for the kind words you left on the loss of Polar Bear. XO
